What to bring back for a 5 and 1 year old?

One of my friends is going to cat sit for us while we're gone, and won't take any money from us as a payment, so I was going to bring something back for his two boys ages 5 and 1.

I don't have kids and have no idea what is a good and age appropriate gift for these ages, any thoughts?

I have 5 and 1 yr. old girls,m they both love balls. I just bought them a new princess one. We went to Chuck E Cheese, they bought a ball with their tickets. Something they can play togrther.

I would get them both a stuffed character.

When I was there last year they had large figures in a package (think bathtub toys). They were clearing out only one of the kinds-Peter Pan, Alice, Hercules, Aladdin,etc. The package had 7 or 8 figures and they were on sale for $3.99

I bought a package and divided them up for my daycare children.

I'm sure they would like a stuffed animal. There are lots of things. See if you can find out what their favorite character is.
