What to believe about ride closings?

I have read in several topics about rumored ride closings during September. How do people hear about these things- they are not posted anywhere on the official Disney site. One person says they are true- another one will say they aren't. How much credit should be given to them? When does Disney officially announce them and where do the post them?

I contacted the concierge staff at the Poly where we are staying...they stated they heard of no such closures for BTM or TOT during September.

I certainly wouldn't postpone our trip because of something being closed...there is so much to do and how much do kids really care what is closed? It is just amazing what people know/think they know!

I've heard the rumors about TOT, but I have not seen anything on the official wdw site (or the reliable 'unofficial' ones), so to me its a rumor until someone I trust confirms it.

Ride closures are just something you have to deal with if you go at a slower time of year. Luckily, they tend to only close one major attraction at a time. When I was a kid it didn't really bother me too much when a particular ride was closed (unless it was Space Mountain), but I guess its a matter of how often you go.

At this point I've been so many times and know I'll go so many more that I try to take it all in stride, but that doesn't keep me from hoping that TOT and RNR are going strong when I get there.;)
