What to ask for at check in?

if you are interested in getting your room upgraded-just openly ask if an upgrade is available (and if the reservations person can't do it call the resort directly, then try again a week or so prior to your trip as well as upon check in). also, if you are booking any type of hotel on your own always ask the reservationist what the best available rate is and what is required to qualify for it-often there are unadvertised lower rates that may only require you to have some association to an entity (a good example is "government rate"-many hotels offer much lower government rates. what alot of government employees don't realize is they need not be on government buisness to access these rates, only identify themselves as an employee and show proof at check-in.).

as far as what i request at check-in: we always ask for extra towels, i always want to shower after a long flight as well as doing so the next morning, and i hate re-using the same towel the next morning :goodvibes

I always make sure I have them take charging privledges off my childrens cards :goodvibes . You know - so that they dont rack up $1,000 in mickey bars:mickeybar . Seriously , so that if it gets lost or stolen,it's one less thing to worry about.

On our honeymoon 10 years ago in Vancouver, Canada; upon check-in I just told the front desk that we were on our honeymoon and if she could give us a "really nice" room. We got a lovely room with a great Coal harbor view on a high floor.

It never hurts to just ask. I always do no matter if there's an occasion or not, you just never know! Good luck and have a great time :sunny:

Krismom- How late are we talking? We might be interested in this if it's available when we go. That is, if I'm not so excited when we get there that I forget to ask! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I think the lastet time they have is at 1pm, I was at the Willderness Lodge for last trip, and they told me to call the day before to Mousekeeping and ask for a late checkout. hopes that helps.

Our plane lands at 10 p.m. so I imagine we'll be grateful if we can sleep on the floor when we finally get there!

Seriously, don't you think that they'll be sick of requests by the time we get there on a Fri night no less. Don't want to difficult right off the bat, let them warm up to us first :rotfl:

Glad you mentioned the towels though...we're really bad about using up towels.
