What time was your MK photo shoot & your ceremony?

Just trying to get a good idea of the best event sequence.

I would like to be able to squeeze in an MK photo shoot, SBP ceremony, and GF Tea Room lunch all in one day, plus maybe get to spend a little time at a park (enjoy a few rides and fireworks). We will only be a party of 18 (includes me & DF).

One thing I'm a little concerned about is the Garden View Tea Room is only open until 6pm (according to the menu I read online). To me, this is the most magical & lowkey reception, so I don't want to not have time for it.

Is it possible to get all this on in one day without having to wake up at a ridiculously early hour??:confused3 Bear in mind that I will also be having someone do my hair and make up and I"d like to have the ceremony soon after the photo shoot.

Lurkyloo gave me a good idea to do the MK photo shoot the next day, but after talking with DF, we'd really prefer that our wedding day is a one day ordeal so we can get the anxiety and attention out of the way & move on to the relaxing and having fun part! :lovestruc

So, to those of you who did an MK photo shoot and WDW ceremony (or anyone else with helpful advice)-could you give me your time frames?

Would it sound reasonable to have a hair and make up appt at say 8am, MK photo shoot at 10am, SBP ceremony at noon, Garden View Tea luncheon at 3pm? :confused3

Thanks in advance!!! :flower3:

The MK shoot is only scheduled before park opening in the early, early hours of the morning. Our was at 5:30am the morning of our wedding and I had my hair and makeup done at 4:00am. Our ceremony was at 12:00pm at the WP and we had tea at 2:00pm. We also had dinner at 5:00pm and then went back to the room and collapsed from exhaustion ;) .

Right....silly me-I totally forgot that people will actually be IN the park at 10am!! :lmao:

Ok, so it seems inevitable that we are gonna have to get up super early if we want to cram all this into one day.

Tiggerific04-So you guys did the GF tea? Could you tell me a little about it-how large your party was, if you had a tough time getting reservations, if they did anything extra special for you, what you ordered, etc.... Or do you have a trip report? I'd love to hear about people's experiences in having their wedding reception lunches here.:flower3:

Sorry to bombard you with questions-we just got started with our planning, so I'm in the naive "in awe" phase!! :rotfl:

There were 13 of us and we didn't have a problem getting a reservation at all. If I remember correctly, there were only two seatings that day: 2:00pm and 2:30pm. I wanted 2:30, but it was taken so we settled for 2:00 instead. DH and I were actually a little late because we were outside getting pictures taken on the beach, but they sat everyone else without us. They didn't do anything extra special at all, but we still had a great time. I do have a TR on here somewhere that I never finished  but I did write about the tea. Here you go: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=20742830&postcount=70

Let me know if you have any more questions!

We're actually going for the "one day ordeal" ourselves. We have the MK photo shoot at 5:30am and then a 9am ceremony in Epcot. The hair and make-up folks will arrive at around 4am to do my DF's hair and make-up, then they will be working on the bridesmaids while we are off in MK getting our pictures taken. I imagine we'll be running around like crazy, but at least we'll only have one extremely early morning instead of two.

we are doing our mk shoot two days later, we dont want to see each other beofre the ceremony so the day of the wedding was no good for us.

We are also doing the same thing. I also didn't want to get up that early on my wedding day. But I'm still have everyone turn up at my room at 8.00 am to get us ready for a 2.30 pm ceremony

Details aren't finalized yet, but this is what our itinerary will hopefully look like:
(We are doing our dessert party the night before)

Monday a.m.
3:30-5:00 Hair & Makeup
5:00 - 5:30 Get dressed & do some pix in room with friends
5:30 -- Disney photographer picks us up for MK photo shoot (I am hoping he or she will do a few "first look" shots for us)
6:00 -- MK photo shoot (while Howard and I are off at MK, Ana will go do our DD20's hair and makeup at Beach Club Villas)
8:30 -- Randy arrives to do photography including DH, me, DD20 and DS15 around GF
10:00 -- ceremony at the WP
11:00 -- pre-reception at Whitehall Patio
12:00 - 3:00 or 4:00 -- reception at Whitehall Room

OMG, I didn't realize that MK pics had to be taken soooo early!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess I wasn't thinking that they'd have to be done before the park opens!! I was thinking I could stroll in there around 2:00 and have them done, haha!

Ours are 5:30 the day after our wedding! Makes for a fun :rotfl: wedding night! I would've liked to have it all the same day! But it was not available!

I thought I had read somewhere that they also do the MK photoshoots after the park closes... misinformation>?

With DS's wedding planned for 12/15, it will still be DARK at 6am!! Has anyone had the MK pix taking in December and are hours different? Or is there enough lighting around to work? Thanks!!

The pictures usually start in the dark, in some the sun has started to come up-the castle/main street/fantasy land is all lite up- quite beautiful!

Hi DisneyMom
I think mostly the point of the shoot is for the castle to be lit up while its dark. I got married in February and it was still dark while we shot up until about 6:45ish. If your son or DIL prefer it to be light outside for the castle pics, they can ask in advance if they could do the carousel and inside castle pics first, leaving the outside pics for last so it would be light. Hope that helped!
