What time should we plan to leave the resort for EMH at MK (8AM opening)? We are leaving Coronado, driving to MK. Taking the car because we are switching resorts and would rather drive with our belongings vs. have them moved for us.

6:45AM
BTW, I would not drive to MK AM EMH. If you do, be sure to board the RESORT MONORAIL
if you intend to get to MK gates by start (or earlier) of AM EMH.

Could you put luggage in car, ride bus to park, then return to Coronado?
We do that when changing resorts, which is quite often.

That’s true! Would bus be better? I guess we could do it that way! We haven’t driven to parks a lot though when staying off property. It would be nice to have our stuff moved for us but I’ve heard some horror stories of luggage not making it over fast enough.

It's just convenient. Opinions vary on this one. You could move your car near the bus stop and be well-positioned if carrying sleeping kids, too. Once, I actually took transportation back to the resort during the day, moved the car, checked in, and put luggage in the room, and I was barely missed. However, I wouldn't do that any more, since we are officially out of stroller age now.

My previous post should of said we HAVE driven to the parks a lot ;)

So maybe we will bus to MK, then have two adults bus back to Coronado to get the cars at the end of the day, and the other two adults will just ride the bus to the new resort (AOA) with the kids and we will get checked in and wait for the cars with luggage to arrive. That way we don’t have to do bus then cars with four small children.

Makes sense as the bus drops right at main gate. If you drive you have to park, take the tram (which stops a bit away due to some TTC construction) and then get a monorail (ferry won't run at that time). Sometimes the resort monorail doesn't stop at TTC until a certain time so if you do decide to do this you may want to walk to Poly and grab the monorail there.

Either way you look at it bus on MK day is much easier.

That would work for me. I don't know how it happened before I was grown-up, but since we started coming as adults, I've driven and parked at WDW exactly once (excluding driving to the Polynesian once for fireworks). It's the bus for us, even with all it's warts. Have fun!
