What time to leave park to make resort ADR?

Hello All!

What time do we need to leave AK to make it to a 5pm ADR at AKL (Sanaa)? Also, what time do we need to leave MK to make it to GFC ADR by 8:10pm? We will have a car and planning on driving/parking at AK/MK(TTC) respectively. TIA!!!

I always prefer to leave early rather than risk being late (and feeling stressed about being late). The general rule of thumb is to allow 45 minutes to travel between any two locations when using Disney transportation. In my experience, AK to AKL is pretty easy (direct bus), so I'd go with between 30 and 45 minutes. I'd consider just driving from AK to AKL so you don't have to deal with getting back to AK to pick-up your car (I don't think driving versus bus will make a huge time difference). For GFC, you can get to the GF from MK either by using the monorail or the boat, but in either case, I would plan to be walking out of MK about 45 minutes before your ADR. It probably won't take that long, but it does give you time in case you just miss the boat/monorail and have to wait for the next one. I wouldn't drive because then you'd have to get from the MK to the TTC, get your car, drive to the GF, park, and then walk to the GF.

Totally agree with PP on your transportation choices. Take your car from AK to AKL - especially because if the park is closed by the time your meal is over, you'd have a hard time getting back there. I'd allow 30-45 min prior to your ADR. I'm sure you'll have plenty of time to spare, but this allows time to leisurely find your car, navigate the short drive, find a parking spot at AKL and walk in to the restaurant.

Also agree that taking the boat to grand Floridian is fun and allows you to skip messing with the ferry of monorail to TTC until after your meal. I'd still allow the 30-45 min (can you tell I hate taking any chance of being late?)
