We are leaving for DLR Weds morning and I have fireworks planned for Friday evening. Somehow while planning.....it wasn't registering that we are planning on seeing the fireworks on opening night for the Holiday ones. What time are we going to need to be there in order to actually have a spot where we can all see?? We will have 7 young kids so need something without a lot of people blocking us but don't want to be too close to the castle.

While we are on the subject.......where is the best place for us to be at to see the fireworks??

TIA

With fireworks it's really hard to find an obstructed view. I don't know how the crowds will be that night, but for a spot right in front of the castle next to the Partners statue most people get there an hour ahead of time. You can see them around the Rivers of America, by the Main street railroad station, and the Fantasyland side of the castle. You can also see them from the hotels on Harbor Blvd.

Just like what the pp said that it can be a hassle to get a spot in front of SB castle. Especially on opening night of the Holiday season at DL will be crowded with a lot of guests wanting to see the fireworks. If you are in the street during the fireworks, you won't be able to see it well with a lot of adults in their way. The best spot is the curb side right next to the Partners statue in front of SB castle. It does give you another 6 inches off the ground from the street which will help a little but not much. But guests get there 2 hours or even longer for the curb side viewing area. If you have multiple adults in your group, you can have one person stay there with a blanket and mark down your territory for the fireworks. If you really want to see the fireworks from the Hub that badly. In front of SB castle gets you the full effect of the firework show than the other places around the DLR.

The ROA is a decent spot as well as the back side of SB castle. IASWH is suppose to be a quiet area where there is barely any guests in the back.

We really like to watch the Holiday fireworks from near Small World. They display projections on the front of the attraction, and it snows there.

Thank you!!! I've seen them from by the River's of America and actually liked it there because there were no crowds!!!

So IASW Holiday area isn't overly crowded?? Does it cause you to miss a lot of the fireworks since they are more behind you?? DH and I have seen them before (we went last year) but this is a first time for the other 13 members of our party. How about down Main Street further.....say by the tree?? Is that area also very crowded or can you get a decent view from there?? And does it snow there?? We will hopefully have another chance to see them on the following Tuesday (our last night) as well as seeing them while waiting for Fantasmic! on Saturday. I just know that they get canceled often and would hate to not see them at all.

You won't see the castle fireworks from IASW, but you will have a fine view of most of the rest. It can get a bit crowded by IASW during the holiday fireworks, but you can still often get a reasonable spot 15 minutes before the show. The other cool thing about watching the fireworks there is that you get to enjoy the projections on IASW. Oh, you also get snow near IASW.
