Or, let me tell you what happened, I spoke to one agent that said it shouldn't be a problem to book an 10:50 flight out of Orlando after the cruise. So I did. Then I called Costco to book my cruise, (best price). They said NO WAY!!! The earliest Disney wants them booking flights is 1:00pm. Luckily, I called back Delta and they changed all 7 of us to a 2:00 flight to Laguardia, (no charge), but does anyone think I would have made that flight at 10:49 in the morning, or would it have been just too close.

Also, somewhere I read that Delta lets you check your bags in at the Port, can they look and see if the early flight is still available and switch you to it if you can make it?

For me that time is too close.I think that you would be safe booking a flight after noon.

On our first cruise we booked an afternoon flight based on what the TA recommended. We used happy limo and they were at the port promptly at 9:00am and we arrived at the airport around 10:00 am. We flew spirit and were able to change our flight to 11:10. It was so nice, we were so tired and the thought of not having to sit in the airport for 3 hours was great. I guess it depends on if you use disney transfers. If you have private service then you have more control...... though not planned it worked for us!!!

It also depends on what's going on at Orlando airport. We got there at 10:15 am.
At the airport, it took us 90 minutes to clear security there....so we DID make our 12:35 flight, but with only about 20 minutes to spare.

At that time Disney considered anything before 12:30 to be dicey. So if we have had batc's 11:10 am flight, we would have gotten to the gate 35 minutes AFTER the flight left.

Sort of like the last year when I flew Southwest thru Phoenix to Houston. They assured me on the Reservation line that 15 minutes between flights was plenty, or the "computer" wouldn't let them book that as a connection. I have NEVER booked less than an hour between flights, and even then have missed connections. Guess what, not even close, our flight arrived 15 minutes late, the connection left on time, and the agent at the counter wanted to know why we booked the connections so close!!!! So she called the Reservation number herself, and got the same information I did. She was planning to try and get that assumption fixed.
