What time should I leave for DL?

I'll be coming from Riverside County, about an hour from DL. We are visiting DL on Monday. Monday morning traffic is probably chaotic. I believe the park opens at 8am, so what time would you suggest we leave for DL?

I would at 6 am, even though it is early
I just like to get to the park before it opens

I would second leaving early - 6am or earlier and just hanging out until the park opens. You can even take the leisurely short (.5 mile) walk from the parking structure, walk around DTD and find early morning food. You can get breakfast at La Brea Bakery or even really good beneigts and breakfast sandwiches at Brennans Jazz Kitchen quick service window. I've walked the area at 5 in the morning before - woke up early at the DL Hotel - and its really a nice early morning place to be.

I drive the 91 from Corona every weekday and Monday mornings are the 2nd best weekday out of the week for traffic (Friday monring is the best). With the price of gas and the foreclosures in the inland empire, traffic hasn't been that bad.

If you leave at 6:00 and take the carpool lane, it'll take you about 45 minutes from the 91/15. If you leave at 7:00, it'll take you just under an hour.

Of course, this is all barring any accidents.
