We usually drive, but in Oct we will be flying. If our flight is supposed to land at 12:30pm, should we be at POR by 2:00?

We will be taking ME.

It can go either way with DME.

Our flight landed at 9:05 am on June 3rd, there was no line whatsoever at DME, and we walked right onto the bus for BLT. In route, I got my room ready text, we were second only to CR for drop off, and were physically inside of our villa at 10:10 am. None of that had ever happened to us before and it was amazing.

In December, our flight landed at 9:05 am and we waited 45 minutes just to check in at DME, then another 30-40 minutes for the bus, sat on the bus for another 15 minutes, and BLT was the last drop off. It was well over 3 hours from the time we landed until the time we arrived at the resort.

Usually, our experience is somewhere in the middle of those two, and we arrive at BLT roughly 2 hours after our plane lands.

Thank you for the info!

I have at 3:40 reservation for Ohana and tickets to MNSSHP that evening. If we get to the check in for DME and the lines are super long, can we just take a taxi? Or would we have to use DME?

Provided that your flight isn't delayed, I don't think you'll have any issue getting to 'Ohana on time!
Thank you for the info! I'm hoping we aren't delayed :scared:

We usually drive, but I got a decent price with Southwest.

Could you budget for a towncar and take that instead of Magical Express?

Also, I would plan for a taxi/uber ride to the Poly for dinner.

Around $75 one way, not including the tip.
Thank you! We may do that! Can we plan on doing the ME, and then if the line to check in etc seems to long, decide to get a Towncar? Or would I need to plan for something like that?

Towncar service typically has to be set up in advance as the driver will meet you inside of the airport to assist with luggage, etc.

If you do find that the DME line is too long for your liking, there are taxi stands right outside of the doors on the same level (1). A Mears taxi from MCO to your WDW resort will run anywhere from ~$55-$70.

One thing - where is your luggage going to be? Will DME transport it if you don't ride the bus?

Awesome! Thank you for the help!

I'm not sure....we usually drive. Does my luggage automatically go to ME from our plane? Or do I get it from the baggage claim?

There is lots of GREAT info about about this on the Transportation Forum here on the DIS.

After you schedule your DME transportation (either online or over the phone) they will send you a packet containing yellow luggage tags. If you place them on your suitcases, your bags will be transferred to your resort courtesy of DME. If the yellow tags aren't applied, you'll need to pick up your luggage at baggage claim. DME will deliver the luggage directly to your room around 3 hours after you check in at the resort.
