What time period on transfer points

Next new question from the newbie.

If I buy points and transfer them into my account, what time is put on them. Are they my points into my year or from the contract they came from? Also, I am OKW and just want to hang onto the points. Can I transfer and then bank them? Do they need to also be OKW points or from another place?

My goal is to have enough points to take two Disney trips in a 1 br for a week each trip. I want to expect to have to stay the weekend because that is the way the flights are going now. Cheapest on Tues/Wed. I just don't have enough points and not enough $ to buy a contract.

If you want to be assured that you will be able to use the transferred points at 11 months, it would be best that they are from that resort. Some have reported that transfers have still morphed once within their account, but I wouldn't count on that as a universal occurrence.

Transferred points may be banked. Transferred points are supposed to retain their original Home Resort status and original Use Year.

It may be wise to buy your points from DVC directly if you can work out a favorable financing package. DVC may be able to do it for you or talk to your bank. You would be surprised about the creative financing available today. I'm sure your current 1/3 still owed can be rolled into a new favorable loan allowing you to add more points. You also have the option of contacting the Timeshare Store & working out a plan with them for renting or picking up a resale. You need to talk to a professional--just do it, or you will be talking about it forever. Take action now.

I am sorry for not being clear. I write too much as that is the way I talk. I need to buy some points from another member and transfer them in so I can just have enough points for the weekend part of my next trip. I need 30 points.

I wanted to know if I need to make sure they come from OKW or can I use any points from any resort since I have an exact date for travel and it is already under 7 months?

If I were to take in more points than needed on the transfer in, what resort do they belong to? Does it all roll over to my UY? Can I bank the extras for use next year?

I have never transfered before and really just don't know.

I do plan to buy the points I need 34 from Disney after I pay off the last 5K of my timeshare.

I transferred points into someone else's account who is at BW and we are at OKW. The main thing I remember was the points had to come out of my current use year and he had to have a res during his current use year. It did not matter that we each had different use years or Homes.

So if I can find 80 points from anyone at any resort, they can transfer into my account? But we both have to be in our UY? Can I then bank some of the transfered points?

Okay, I think at this point you need to call MS or refer to your info that you received when you became a member. Personally that is what I would do. Besides I don't want to give you wrong info.

I know transferred points can be banked, they have to be the same UY. I have not made a transfer since the computers have been updated.
