We will be in MGM on May 11 and that seems like a pretty busy time. What time should we start waiting in line for Fantasmic? Is 8 to late for a 9:00 show? Thanks

yes get there at 745 i know 15 minutes may not seem like much but most people will probably think an hour before is a good time to get there, just like you.

I absolutely hate the idea of waiting an hour plus for a 25 minute show. So, let me chime in here with our experience. We are a family of 4 and have never shown up more than about 20 minutes early. We have been there three times and have sat all over the stadium. There is not a bad seat in the whole place. The first time we were on the side and it was fine. The second time we went right down the middle and filled in a spot of empty bench. This last time crowds were low due to rain and we were able to get great seats in the middle. Again, there are no bad seats in the theatre. That said, I haven't been at peak times and that may make a difference. Remember, you can always do the fantasmic package and they reserve a seat for you.

Regardless, this is a great show. You won't be disappointed.

The time of year greatly affects how early you have to go. We've been where 45 minutes before the show-- and you couldn't get in. I've also walked up w/ only 10 minutes to go-- and there were plenty of seats.

If it is a must do-- I'd go w/ an hour to be safe.

We'll be doing Fantasmic on May 11th too. I am planning on lining up at 8pm. Does anyone know when they let you in the theater itself? After Fantasmic we plan on walking over to Epcot for EMH. Even if we dont get to the International Gateway until 1015, we'll still have 1hr and 45 min there too, beats a crowded bus after Fantasmic. Have a great trip.

Probably a dumb question, but where do the parks connect? How do you get between the two. TIA :)

The walk from MGM to Epcot will be a decent one. There is a pathway from MGM to the Swan/Dolpin/Boardwalk area. Then you can walk from there to Epcot. I would think it's going to be a 30 min walk at least. It's about 15 min from MGM to the resorts alone. With probably another 15 to Epcot. Not speedwalking, but a decent pace.
There is also a boat that runs from MGM to Epcot. With the waiting and all-- it could talk about the same time. Just easier on the tired feet.

If the parks are packed, some time two hours in line is normal. I suppose how busy it will be will depend on the amount of people there for 05-05-05 and staying the week. One option, and what we have done since waiting in line during christmas season for well over two hours is to eat at the Hollywood and Vine with the Fantasmic Dinner Package. We see it as a chance to eat a great buffet and do something more worthwhile with our time than waiting in another line.
