We’re hoping to get in the first training of the day. How early can we sign up (with the 8am HS open)?

It's opening before official opening time right now
Do we know about what time they are starting the JTA signups? We weren't planning on it bc we only have a three-quarter day at DHS this quick trip. We're not planning on RD, but if there's ample time to get in, sign DS7 up, then join the rest of our group down Sunset Blvd for BG time, if we can time our JTA slot of our choice right, then we might just do it. DS11 has already done it twice and built a Droid and lightsaber at DL. DS7 has just now really gotten into SW, and admittedly a sith, complete with sith robe 😆. He has DAS so getting to DHS early enough for a good RD spot is out of the question. He can't be in one place long line not moving for more than 15-20 minutes (25 is pushing it). I hear they've been letting people in at 7 with PO at 8 lately. As long as we are moving, he should be fine. Do they start JTA signups by 7? 7:15? 7:30? 7:45? Has THAT line started to have its own little RD queue from the 7 am crowd entrance to (say) a 7:45 JTA signups opening? I hope the question makes sense. Thanks so much!

I don't know the exact time people have just reported it being open earlier than the park

I don't think that there has ever, in the history of WDW, been a function that has seen as many changes, modifications and unpredictable timings, locations and procedures as "Sign-up for Jedi Training."

Even if "X happened" LAST week... do not be surprised if "Y" happens THIS week.
That's why, I said that if the park opens at 8AM, you can sign up at about 8AM.
It might be some time before 8AM, but sometimes you'll just be lined-up and waiting until such time as signing begins.

If Jedi Training is a priority, just show up early with the child(ren,) be ready, and hope for the best.

At least now that there are some Star Wars and Toy Story attractions with FAR MORE "draw,"
Jedi Training will not be as difficult to achieve as it once was.

So the reports of "earlier than official opening" are in line with when the CM's start walking guests into the park from Hollywood Blvd. The park officially opens at a given hour but most of the time (in all parks) guests are allowed back to the rides about 15 minutes prior to official opening. That's when Jedi training has been staffed in the last 3 trips we have made.

It's been a LONG time since the Jedi training was a hot item and required immediate signup. The last trip we took in August, on a pretty busy day, we did a RD ride before heading over to Jedi and had plenty of time slots available. Later in the day we decided to try and change our time to an earlier time and we still had our pick of time slots.
