I couldn't find the lighting on the schedule. I only saw the lighting of the castle. I can't wait! I just watched it on youtube. It almost brought tears to my eyes.
I can't answer your question.......(not aware of a ceremony for the IASW lights - maybe they just come on when it is dark). But I agree about the castle lighting ceremony + song + snow = tears! I am such a sap for that stuff. It is beautiful.
I think it just starts when it gets dark. And goes on all evening (minus when the lights go dark for the fireworks). It's very cool but you can catch it all evening.
Do the lights change around or is it pretty much a constant? Not sure if I explained it right, but is it always lit up, or is it more like the light/water show at night in Pixie Hollow where it only "goes on" at certain times?

I want to say that the lights came on last year sometime after 5:30 and maybe closer to 6? I just know that it was dark and seemed late. It came on once right as our boat pulled up for us to depart...such magic! I could check time stamps on the pics but I am sure someone will have the correct answer. As for the lights it does just light up and then every so often there is a cute little light show! I've only seen it once and just happened to be walking by but it was super cute and I'm excited to see it this year
It lights up, and about every 15 minutes there is a little light projection show. We watched the fireworks from in front of IASW last year and we saw it several times during our pre-fireworks wait.
Thanks for the details. If I didn't know about it, my luck would be to be there for the 10 minutes between "shows." Now I know to hang around. Maybe a good time to get a snack! (like I need an excuse for a goodie!)
Will the lights (the regular ones) for Small world be on even if the attraction is still out for the holiday makeover? I'll be there in just over a week (!!!) and hope they will be!

No, I don't think so. I could be wrong. It may be lit up in some minor way - but not too much. They wouldn't want to attract people back there when the ride is closed, but they may have some lights on just to add some color.
As for the colored lights that are part of the holiday makeover, they go on when the overlay opens for the holiday season. It will be open on 11/12 or possibly the day before. They wouldn't turn on all the colored lights when they don't have the inside of the ride done up yet because the lights will attract people to the back of the park and they wouldn't be able to get on IASW.
Once dusk hits, the IASW Holiday lights go on and pretty much stay on all night except for - as previously mentioned - during fireworks or when the little projections on the facade happen.
