What time do the lights at Hogwarts' come on?

Many have said that the WWOHP is especially magical at night when the lights come on and it is all lit up.

Can anyone please tell me what time in the evening they have been turning on the lights? Trying to figure out how late my friends can stay and still have time to come meet me over at the GF for some hotel touring there and at the Poly before our dinner ressies at 8:40pm at Narcoosee's

And how long do you think it would take for them to leave Harry (including just getting to the car) and commuting from there to the Gf? I figure about 1 hour door to door. Is that about right?

I would allot at least alsmot 2 hrs...just to be safe...HP is the furthest point away from the parking garage, and it is a long walk back..plus if City Walk is busy, or the Studios is closing, the crowds can be BAD..then you also have to deal with the traffic that may or not be on i-4...then you have to drive to the VERY BACK of Disney property...mileage wise, not much, but traffic wise...UGH..

I'll take this part. The lights are already on as it gets dark--there's no lighting ceremony or anything like that. We were there last night and it was already dark enough to appreciate at 6:30.

Hi,

Just returned from Universal. The lights are not like the magic kingdom. The castle has a dim spotlight or two. The village is dimly lit and nice. Not nice enough that you would would want to plan around the lights. Our hotel had a view of the park and you could not see the castle at night.

I don't agree with this at all. We found Hogwarts to be really gorgeous at night but to each their own.

OP, your friends might be cutting it a bit close though. You never know about traffic either.

I agree! My favorite time to look at Hogwarts and walk around Hogsmeade is at night.

night time .... kinda depends on what time the sun sets and that depends on the day of the year . . .

There are many web sites where you can determine the time of sunset for a particular day and location . . .
