what time do resort pools close ?

In my experiences, (Many late nights on the College Program sneaking into the Wilderness Lodge and many other resort pools and hot tubs) as long as you are quiet and keep to yourselves you won't have in troubles.

No gaurantees, but we never got busted and had a blast after all the families were in bed!

How late? Like after midnight late? Do they have security at the resorts (or maybe they do but just don't care about pool)? Me and my DH really would be embarassed to be caught in the middle of the night in a hot tub or pool at Disney.

Once at a cheap hotel at Myrtle Beach me and my friends got thrown out of the pool at 2AM... Not sure if we were loud and someone complained or if they spotted us on the security camera... I didn't even know that cheap hotel had a camera.

Last August I stayed at Pop Century. Although the lifeguards were not on duty, there were people in the pool all hours of the night. One night there were people in the pool at 2:30 a.m. I know because I woke up and check the clock.

Yeah, those late nights got pretty late... well after midnight for sure... One night in fact, at Coronado Springs, we stayed until Sun-rise. So, from my experiences, you should be just fine!

As stated closing hours vary between 10pm and midnight. It is sometimes not enforced unless the noise bothers the guests near the pools then security will ask everyone to leave.

Sammie! Sounds like you've been to some wild parties pool side at some Disney resorts! Do tell!

Afraid not, but have a friend that worked security at one of the resorts. After a tiring day at the parks and nighttime fun at Pleasure Island or the Boardwalk, my bed is where I am headed not the pool.

Oh darn...I was hoping for some interesting stories and we could swap on this thread.

But as it's all off then, we should look else where.

Anyone else that keeps partying in the pools and can tell a story?

I was curious if there were any stories at Disney World. I think of it as a very family place, so parties at the pool in the middle of the night seem somewhat surprising to me :scratchin

It's been a few years, but the last time we stayed at CBR, at check in we were told that closing time for the main pool, I think it was midnight, but were told that the "quiet pools" were open 24/7.

As a college program alumnus, I have been involved in a few parties on WDW property. I can honestly say that there was no alcohol involved since at the time we were all only 20 and didn't want to get fired... (Well, no alc. on the resort end, Vista Way is a diff. story) But still we had some great late nights coutesy of WDW Resort.

Haha...as an alumnus of the international programs we were involved in a lot of things that would probably ruin the "family place" reputation that WDW has. I was 20 too...but it really didn't stop me from having a beverage now and again....or 2, or 3.

Perhaps those stories would be best shared at Canadian alumni reunions...hmmm...

LOL.... :rotfl2: EACH & EVERY SUMMER!!! The WDW Dolphin GROTTO pool is notoriously open 24/7....and we play Volleyball at 3:30 in the morning every visit without fail! We used to return from a late eve in the MK (E-TICKET NIGHT), and beeline straight for the pool. There are usually always people milling around, and playing in both the pool/jacuzzi. It doesn't take very much to get them all engaged in a water game of one type or another, some jump in fully-clothed. Others have been hilariously funny (and slightly inebriated), making such nights very memorable. Still, a few have caused the sudden appearance of resort security, resulting in a rapid exit (too loud, etc) from the pool :sad2: We were always permitted to stay, as we were VERY quiet/respectful of other guests. :goodvibes

I definitely recall late night partying being the "norm" in the pools at the old Dixie Landings too! We stayed in Oak Manor, and the "quiet" (yea...right!) pool was always occupied in the early am hours. Most were teens from "La Tourismo" groups, whom were just "playing around" and goofing off. :hyper:
They never bothered us, and we even went down and joined them on occasion. I LOVE swimming under the stars, and do it every eve in my own pool. It's very cathartic....to float on your back, and look at the stars and dark backdrop of the night sky. :cloud9:

It happens (late-night pool parties) more than you can imagine. Most people are sound asleep...and off in dreamland during these wild events!! Next time you're in a WDW resort, take a peek at the pool @ 2:00 am or later. You'll be surprised to see people swimming, (among other things) in the water! :rolleyes2 :confused3

Oh yeah, the late night (well past midnight) were always some of my best CP memories. For me, the hot-tubs @ Wilderness Lodge will always be the best... Just the set up is alot of fun. And if you go to the pool/hot tub by the "Home away from home" suites, there is hardly ever anyone there. Most late night junkies tend to keep to the main pool. So, if you're looking for some "alone" fun this would be the place to go, in my humble opinion. Plus if you get adventurous(sp?) you can always head out for a creepy late night hike down the nearby trails. Always fun, but maybe a little more slightly inhebriated...
