My family is scheduled for a Disney Magic Cruise out of NYC and I know that it says you can disembark starting at 7:30 am. We have late dinning seating and I know our breakfast schedule will be based on our late seating but we wanted to know what time would we be told to go to breakfast. The reason being is we have to pre-book our taxi from a computer before we leave. Note we do not own a smart phone. Only a pay as you go phone that we won't have service. We were thinking of pick up at 10 am but don't know if that is too late. My parents are elderly (80 yo and 77 yo) and they cannot stand long. I've been on hold with Disney for a while now and wanted to see if I can get an answer here. Also is the Disney Magic docked in pier 90 or 88 now (September 2019). Thank you for any help.

Ok, don't worry. You won't even have to call ahead for a taxi...there are tons of them lined up outside the port (on the mid-level) of the terminal when you disembark. If you have late seating your breakfast will be about 8:15 give or take but you don't have to go to the main dining room. You can head up to Cabanas anytime after 7:00 am to get breakfast (and leave your carry ons in your cabin). After you eat you can just go back to your cabin and get your carry on bags and head down to leave the ship (as long as it has been cleared by customs).

Here is a pic of the taxi's outside of the terminal:

We have sailed out of New York a few times and will be on the October 27th Magic next month. There are always taxi's lined up outside the terminal. The terminal has three levels. You will claim your luggage on the 1st level, walk out of terminal and then have to take an elevator up to mid-level to get a taxi. Don't let them make you walk across the street to get a ride, especially if you are with your elderly parents.

If you pre book a car service they will most likely ask you to cross the street for pick up (at lease my experience though I live in NY and know the city well so maybe it’s different if booking from out of town). Just be aware like previous poster said.

I’ve only done first seating and I’ve been home by 10:45 (about an hour and 20 minutes away) so I would say booking for 10, you’d be waiting for a long time.

Don’t quote me, but I believe the pier can change depending on what other ships are there. Though if you tell a car service you’re coming in from the Disney Magic they should be able to find it.

Last time we sailed from NYC, I was paying close attention to our time disembarking. We had late breakfast, didn't rush but also didn't linger. We needed to use the elevators because we had my mom in a wheelchair. That was our biggest delay. Many people were bringing their whole group to use the elevator rather than having people who could use the escalator do that while the ones who truly needed the elevator line up for the elevator. (Sorry, pet peeve) Even with that delay, we were exiting the terminal just after 9:30. So if you set up a 10am pick up, you might be waiting a little bit. But anything from 9:30 - 10 would be good, just adjust when you are leaving the ship.

Thank you everyone for the replies. Disney fans are the best. Mmouse37 I hope your ship is heading north. I would be so afraid to go to the Bahamas or Bermuda during tropical storm s. We were in Bermuda last October and would never do that again. Thanks again.
