We're in Kissimmee tonight, going to the Fort tomorrow. I know the official check-in time 2pm, but how early do they typically let you slide? Just trying to figure out what time we can sleep till... :)

Thanks!

Bill

Check in for campsites is 1pm and 3pm for cabins. You can check in as early as you like on your check in date. There is just no guarantee that your site or cabin will be ready. They will give you all your paper work and keys and give you a number to call to check back to see when your accommodations are ready. I like to arrive early if for no other reason than to try and beat the long lines at check in time and if the site happens to be ready I am ahead of the game. If not we will park in the overflow lot and go exploring.

I should have said "how early will they typically give you a site?" - I know about the overflow lot; I'm trying to avoid going to a park, coming back to set up, then going back out for our dining reservation (especially with the increasing chance of rain as the day goes on, and us setting up a pop-up).

I really don't know the answer to your question. I remember arriving in the wee hours of the morning (before dawn) and our site was ready. We chose not to attempt to back in (with the diesel truck) at that hour.

If it were me, I'd probably aim for 10:00. If the site is ready, you're good to go. If it isn't ready, the fort will be wide awake and you could park and explore around the fort.

Regardless, have a magical time!

Or get in some fishing time while you wait, :thumbsup2

We usually arrive at the Fort between 10:00 and noon. Once we got our site right away. The other times we had to wait in the overflow lot. One time around a very busy July 4th week our site wasn't ready until around 2:00. For me its no big deal. Since I do all the driving, it gives me the chance take a nap. DS and DW sometimes do the same or will take a long walk with the dog. We also use the time to go to Walmart or if we rent a car to go pick it up, etc. I say who cares. I am at Disney so now the vacation can start.

Our last trip we also stayed the night (july 4th) in Kissimmee before our check in date...so we were at the Fort pretty early...maybe about 10am...not 100% sure......and we actually got lucky and they had a clean cabin ready!!

Have fun!! Wish our trip was sooner rather than later!! :goodvibes

guess i should've read the posts better!! lol didnt see you were pulling a camper w/you!

Got our site at 10am today; there was no one ahead of us and check-in and we sailed right in!
