What time can you get onto Main Street?

We are going to WDW on Dec 16-26. I want to try to get some pics on Main Street with our 10 month old son before opening. I remember in the past I could walk main street up to the castle before park opening but I can't remember what time they will let you in to do this. Thanks in advance!

First may I say, Welcome to the DIS!

Now, unless they do things differently during the holidays, I don't think you can get onto Main Street before park opening. I did EMH (early open) one day this past September, and everyone is kept just outside the train station tunnels until the park opens. At that point most people make a dash for Fantasyland, so Main Street is still pretty empty. I got some great shots there that day with few or no people in the pictures.

I don't think they've let people on to Main Street before the park opens for several years now. The last time I remember being able to do it was in Oct. of 2001.

I think you might be able to get in before opening if you have an ADR at CP or CRT breakfast that occurs before park opening. I may be wrong on this.

Try to get the earliest ADR at Crystal Palace. Should be 7:00am or a little after. That's the only way you can get into MK before park opening to my knowledge. CRT would be booked by now.

The shops will not be open. If you have an ADR the restaurants will be open for you, but nothing else is open until the official park opening time. They hold everyone in front of the Train Station and do a Character Welcome show. Mickey and the Family of the day will open the park. Until that show is over they will not let you onto Main Street unless you have an ADR, but as I mentioned nothing but the restaurants (CRT and CP) will be open.

We had a reservation at Crystal Palace the day after Thanksgiving and the earliest ressie was for 8am ours was 8:05am and it was awesome walking down an empty main street. The characters at Crystal Palace are Pooh and friends so they may be familiar to a 10 month old and the food is great, so that would be your best bet!
