We just decided to make a quick Disney trip over Fall Break (mid-October). It looks like there are no deluxe resorts available whatsoever! There are lots of mods and values, so I can't figure out what is going on. I am completely out of the discount loop, so is there some sort of major promotion going on that I'm unaware of?

Fall is one of the busiest times of year, right up there with Christmas season & spring break.

Mid-October, my first trip in 2005. Free Dining, extremely low crowds, those were the days. No more. Mid-October is probably one of the busiest times there is at Disney.

Could it be an occupancy thing? How many in your party?

Both CBR & CSR are under pretty intensive rehab, so I think that's a factor too.

There are fewer deluxe rooms than there are value & moderate rooms.

We tried to rent Dvc in October and had no luck, we then tried to get a mod or deluxe with no luck or our dates. We are now going in November and our only option for a mod was CBR. At least we'll see the Christmas decor.

I don't think you understand just how big this conference is! Here is a quote below directly from Gartner indicating the size of the commitment for Gartner Symposium/ITxpo 2018. .

Please note that the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel, Walt Disney World Swan Hotel, Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts and Disney's Boardwalk Resort are available exclusively to Executive Programs attendees. Additionally, the public sector rooms at these hotels are available exclusively to ExP Primary Members, Team Leaders and Bring Your Boss participants.​

So in addition to the complete lock on the EPCOT deluxe resorts all the the other deluxe resorts are also blocking large groups of rooms. Yes this means all the Deluxe resorts and including CBR and CSR beyond EPCOT.

Wow! That's pretty amazing! I'm wondering how many attendees are there total, and how many of them have families who tag along. I sincerely wish my DH's work paid for him to stay in a Deluxe at Disney! We'd be there with him in a heartbeat.

We are DVC and own at Boardwalk Villas and book every Oct for F&W and last year I even noticed a couple guys on the elevator with seminar badges on going to their rooms in the DVC side. They were talking about how cool it was that they had a kitchen and laundry...that they didn't have that the year before. So they are even using their CRO inventory in our DVC for convention folks. Yeah, I wish my DH's work conferences would be at Disney. Nope, Chicago or Philadelphia and the such.

Well, this clears it up, lol. At least there is a reason. In 20+ trips, I've never encountered a problem where every deluxe is sold out but zero mods/values are.

Many years ago, we had the same problem for a last minute July trip. Only the very expensive deluxe rooms were available. So, we tried POR Riverside. We found it charming. I just wish there wasn't a 4 day tropical storm, LOL, we got soaked just leaving our room. I don't think you'll have that problem in Oct.

I'd say, try a Mod. Even if you have a car and need to pay the parking fees, the lower resort price will make up for it.
