What the heck does "bump" mean?

So I have seen this more than a few times in threads on this board.

A single word response of "bump".

What does it mean?

It "bumps" the thread back to the top of the list.

It's when someone is trying to get the thread back to the top of the page so more people will notice it. That's all.
