I really had good fishing luck in the Keys, but sometimes the numbers catch up to you.

Pine Island (Ft Myers)---Throwing rapalas, spinner buzz baits, swim baits, bucktails, you name it ; IT did not work.

Switched to finger mullet and chumming. First cast, a hit and a miss. Still screwing up setting circle hooks. 2nd cast a hook-up, a bit of a run, but just a heavy boot pulling back. Got the fish to the surface. A hallucination.

This fish made a wrong turn somewhere in his life. A 3lb channel catfish. Then another and another and another. Wait a second, maybe there is a saltwater catfish. I have no idea what you call them or I need some major medication for my hallucinations.

Any ideas ?????????????????

Here in La they are called Gafftop catfish. Slimey boogers that mess up the Trout fishing.

Yes, they exist. But the real question is, do they hallucinate? Inquiring minds want to know...
