What "Stuff" to Buy for Windsor Hills Condo?

I was just reading a post that said to buy paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, etc.) for a stay in Windsor Hills. I assumed stuff like toilet paper would be provided so was glad to see that suggestion. I know I can email and ask the owner if certain things are provided, but instead can someone make a list of what was needed for a condo stay? I'm sure there may be things that I wouldn't even discover we needed until after we get back from the grocery store. Also a suggested list might be helpful in helping know "what" to ask the owner.

We will be at Windsor Hills from May 10 to 17...only 4 more weeks!!! :yay:

Bottled Water! (Florida water is yucky IMO)
Laudry Detergent
Milk
Coffee

I am hopping on board with this thread...We are leaving Sunday for Windsor Hills:banana: and am curious as well. Here are a few I thought of...

dishwashing liquid
Lysol wipes for the bathroom
napkins

What else?

I'm mostly looking for non-grocery items that I might not think of. Knowing we will eat breakfast and perhaps one meal a day in the condo I can come up with a grocery list.

Thanks anyway!

The management company recommeded we bring beach towels, kitchen trash bags, TP, and face cloths. We're renting a crib so I'm going to bring my own sheet for that as well.

Things we always bring:

Toilet paper
Paper Towels
Trash bags
Napkins
Paper plates/cups (cuts down on doing dishes, it is vacation after all :) )
Coffee and filters for coffee pot
Hand soap for bathrooms/kitchen (sometimes it's included, sometimes not)
Laundry detergent/Bounce sheets
Bars of soap for the bath/shower
Beach towels
Disposable dishwashing cloths (no risk of mess in transit)
Lysol wipes

If I think of anything else I'll post. I need to start assembling this stuff myself, our trip is coming up quick!

We're staying in a condo at Cypress Pointe so my list will vary some from yours but here are a few things I either asked about or plan to get for the condo:

extra rolls of paper towels (we go thru quite a few of these)
a spray bottle of some type of household cleaner (409, Lysol, etc)
dish detergent for washing in both the sink and the dishwasher
soap for both the shower & the bathroom sink
laundry supplies - detergent, dryer sheets, & a stain stick
ample kitchen towels & potholders
a corkscrew & wine glasses
hangers

I also checked around to find out what small appliances are in the kitchen - a blender for example. I like to plan my grocery shopping list before we leave and it helps to know what I will have to work with.

Pretty much what everyone else has said.
I'm also bringing a small bottle of that Clorax Anywhere Hard Surface cleaner to spray down the tubs, toilet seats and maybe the door knobs.

A good supply of various sizes of Ziploc baggies.

Hairdryer, yeah there may be one provided but I like mine. ;)

Pool toys and life jackets for the kids (my kids are still learning how to swim)

Foil and/or plastic wrap

Bottle opener

Sponge/scrubber pad for washing dishes

I would ask this of the owner.

Because the homes are individually owned there are items in some homes and not others. Some owners provide pool towels, pool toys, hair dryers, bottle openers, ample kitchen towels & potholders, corkscrew, wine glasses, hangers so on. It is better to know before you show up and have to make a trip to purchase some additional items.

Owners have a wealth of information about their own homes. Send emails as soon as you think of something. They should be happy to answer any questions about their home.

I plan to contact the owners but was afraid I may not even know what all to ask about. It is helpful to hear from others who have already done a condo stay to see what they needed to furnish.

This will be our first time renting a condo and if there are things we can bring from home (we are flying) it will keep us from buying a larger quantity once we arrive. For example...I will probably just take 2 or 3 garbage bags instead of buying a whole package. I can also just throw in a few dryer sheets instead of purchasing a whole box. You get the idea...

My other dilema...we will probably arrive before check-in time. If we aren't able to get into the condo immediately should we do a grocery run "first"...or play it safe and just wait till we get into the condo and know for sure what is needed? I've seen directions from Windsor Hills to Publix and Walmart, but just don't have a feel for how much time it will take to get there. I hate to go to the grocery store anytime...and I especially don't want to spend my vacation making multiple trips if it isn't necessary. :sad2:

We've found the grocery stores in the area to always be incredibly busy no matter which one we went to or what time we went. And traffic can be bad as well. Unless you're going to be really close to a store and can get there without getting into really bad traffic, I would wait until I'd seen the condo before going to the store. I'm like you - I'd rather not use up vacation time shopping for groceries and mundane household stuff. And I definitely don't want to fight those vacation-area Walmart crowds anymore than necessary.

You may be able to get into the home early unless there is a back to back booking. I would ask the owner if it was possible?

I will ask, but am pretty sure someone will be checking out the day that we arrive. The owner only does Saturday to Saturday bookings.

Even though they only do Sat-Sat, they may have left earlier. We are renting a townhouse Sat-Sat, but wont arrive till Sunday and will probably leave on Friday. So your house may be available a little sooner than check in time.:)

The thing about coffee filters is you don't know if you need cone or basket type filters until you stop by the home first.

Many homes provide pool towels, some do not, I'd hate to carry big bulky towels back and forth to Florida with me, or linens, etc.

We own a place and off the top of my head, here is what we provide....

Dishes, glasses and utensils
Hair dryers
Dish Soap, Dishwasher Soap, Scrubbers
Sugar, Salt, pepper, fully stocked spice rack, creamer, coffee and filters
Paper plates towels and toilet paper
Bath towels and Beach towels.
Bar soap
I think we provide paper plates and plastic silverware, but not sure.

Dont think we provide Laundry Detergent, shampoo, conditioner, or pump soap.

My best advice is to ask the management company or the owner you are dealing with rather than lugging a bunch of toilet paper on vacation.

Also remember that you are not going to Nepal. Chances are you will drive by several Publix, Walmarts and Targets on your way to your condo. Or you could check the condo pantry out, and then head off to the store with a list while the kiddies play in the pool. Thats what we usually do.
