What might be there that would be of interest to you? I'm not talking about states that you all ready "know" you would like to visit - and what you would like to see there - but the ones that you're curious about..

Mine would be:

Ohio
North Dakota
Montana
Utah
Idaho
Illinois
Wisconsin

Also - if you live in a state that someone mentions, feel free to tell us what you have of interest there! :thumbsup2

If you like mountains, the trio of Montana, Idaho, and Utah would be a great trip. We are building a mountain house near Butte, which is in the southwestern corner of Montana and the other two are within driving distance. Mountains everywhere! We have a full view of the Tobacco Root Mountain range right out our living room windows.

I want to visit:

Hawaii (of course)
Texas
Louisiana

I have visited most of the states, and the rest I have no interest in visiting.

I love road trips and would love to visit every state. I used to wonder what was in Kansas until we moved here. I had a totally different picture of what life would be like here.

We're tossing around the idea of driving to Washington DC this summer. While doing my research on our route, I was surprised by how much there was to see in Indiana. I guess I hadn't really thought of it before. Who knew Indianapolis has the best children's museum in the country?

It's wonderful! Definitely worth visiting. We had a little mini vacation in Indianapolis a couple of years ago and it was so much fun! We stayed at the old train station hotel (the name escapes me right now) and slept in an old (refurbished with an extremely comfy bed) train car. It was a really cool atmosphere.

Oh, that sounds cool. I'll have to look that up. I'm so happy we moved to Kansas. There is no way we would have taken these road trips when we lived in California. It's a lot easier doing this when you are right in the middle of the country.:thumbsup2

Well - what "is" it like in Kansas? What is there to do and see? When I hear the word "Kansas", the only thing that comes to mind is Dorothy - from "The Wizard of Oz".. LOL..

I am curious about
Maine
Vermont
Washington
Oregon

I love Wisconsin! Madison is our favorite road trip city. It has wonderful restaurants and a fantastic farmers market (the country's largest!). Madison is also near the little Norway town, the little Switzerland town, and little Sweden. Also near the mustard museum in Mt. Horeb. Milwaukee has fun stuff to see such as brewery tours and the Harley Davidson Museum. The art museum also has high quality works there as well.

Illinois of course Chicago which has a million things to see and do there including Millenium Park and the Sears (ahum... Willis...) Tower.

It's beautiful here. Coming from California, I never experienced all four seasons! Fall is my favorite. We have a great World War I museum for you history buffs out there. Union Station is also a nice place to check out. I've only been here for just under 2 years, so I'm having fun exploring.:)

In case anyone is curious about that train-car hotel in Indy, it is called the Crowne Center Plaza. Thanks, Liberty Belle!

Both Madison and Milwaukee are great cities to visit. :) Anywhere along Lake Michigan or the Mississippi River is gorgeous. The Wisconsin River runs right down the middle of the state and is also beautiful.

Door County is a fantastic place to vacation. Wisconsin Dells is a great family destination.

We have the coulees of western WI , the great northwoods north of Wausau, the prairie in the middle/eastern part of the state and the Kettle Moraine in the southeastern part of the state.

We have four beautiful seasons here and something to do in each one. :)

I love it here and can't imagine living anywhere else. :goodvibes

Maine is glorious. ::yes:: From the incredible seashore stretches (real shore, not fake beaches :teeth: ) to the majestic mountains, Maine is a beautiful state.

The eastern seaboard is a beautiful stretch of country. Driving from the top of Maine to Key West is one of my goals. I'd like to stay on A1A for as much of it as possible.

NY including NYC is another magnificent state. So much to see and do, again from the seashore to the mountains, to bone snapping cold spring fed lakes, to the locks of the St. Lawrence Seaway...

Virginia is beautiful too. The people are quite friendly and warm. ::yes:: I love the Cape May Jersey shore!

Yep. I'm an east coaster, can you tell? LOL.

North Dakota hosts the geographical center of North America--other than that, not much to see there :lmao:

Wisconsin is a very pretty state. The area around LaCrosse in the fall is unbelievable.

Kansas, well, do you like wheat fields:lmao:.

I want to get to the northern New England States--Maine/Vermont mostly. That is pretty much the only 'region" of the country I have not visited.

Kentucky because I would love to go to Mammouth Cave National Park
Hawaii because its Hawaii

I've been in Kansas a few times. Driving through Kansas is the WORST. Completely flat.

That's what it has looked like every single time I drive through there. Not real thrilling.

Back OT, I'm curious about the northwest - Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon. :thumbsup2

I'm curious about Michigan. Lots of Dutch people seem to live there so I wonder what it's like.

I'm also curious about Washington state. I don't know if I'd find it interesting or not.

I would like to go to Wyoming, Arizona and Nevada. Other than that I've pretty much seen what I want to.
