What standard rooms at WL to avoid

My sons and I are staying at WL in mid-July (our 2nd time there). We absolutely loved it last year, but we were in a Courtview room. This time our budget only allowed for a standard room.
Are there any standard rooms to absolutely avoid?
(Hopefully an upgrade is possible)
Thank you for your help.

We stayed at WL in 2003 in a standard room. We ended up on the 4th floor (room 4050) which overlooked the smokehouse and employee parking lot along with dumpsters. It was a queen/bunk bed room. We were supposed to be attached or near my parents and they ended up on 1st floor(room 1139) on the opposite side of the resort. We complained and were upgraded (free) to room 1165 - ground level courtyard view which was a really wonderful room. I could sit on the patio and watch my kids in the pool and just walk across the grass for a pina colada at the pool bar. (We were right across from Trout Pass) Now, as much as I loved the new room, we were hardly ever in it. If we weren't at the parks, we were at the pool. We are going in 2006 and I will book a WL standard room.

We just got back from WL. We had standard view room 4097. The view was awful. We we looking at a gable and roof--couldn't see over it or around it. A think all of the rooms that were 4090's had this view. We paid FULL rack rate for this room (which may have been more tha someone with a cortyard veiw that had a code), I was ready to switch resorts as soon as I saw the room. We were only staying two nights, but I should have asked to be moved. I was pretty dissappointed in this stay!

have only stayed in standard room and both times been put over the smokehouse...

the patio was smaller I believe than other rooms....I still had a good time though.

If you are planning to spend sometime on your veranda forget it,,,view is normally awful..
but I would prefer that to over the restaurant..I hear the noise level is worse..

saying all that WL is a beautiful, beautiful resort....

have not been there in years but the lobby is breathtaking

enjoy

Are the standard rooms overlooking the smokehouse the same as the ones that might have a partial MK view?
Is this the service area? I am not too picky but I definitely do not want to look at dumpsters. I will be very upset with that. I know I booked standard but standard should not mean a trash dumpster view-I'd rather have no view.
