What soup did Teppan Edo used to serve?

Teppan Edo used to serve a soup prior to the main course. I thought it was a Miso Soup, but am not 100% sure on that. When I returned from WDW in September, I was devastated to learn that they no longer serve this soup. Does anyone know what that soup was and if there is a good substitute sold in stores?

It's been quite a few years (March 2011), but I remember it being an onion soup with tofu in it. And I think also mushrooms.

Though, I wouldn't trust my memory too much.

We ate there three summers ago and had the hibachi meal. Do you have a restaurant near where you live at home that serves hibachi style food? We thought the food at Teppen Edo was similar to the place we go to at home, and the place we go to with my FIL in Ocala. So, you should be able to find similar food at a hibachi restaurant if you can find one near you.

It’s called clear soup, and made with onions and mushrooms as someone mentioned.

I found a recipe that looks similar to what I usually have with my Hibachi meal. I also love this soup, so may try this myself.

The clear onion soup is the Miso Soup.

It's soybean based clear soup with wakame, green onion and tofu.

There is both clear and miso soup (I don’t like miso, but do love clear). I believe the one served at Teppen Edo was clear soup, but its been a while, so I could be wrong.

I want to thank each one of you who responded! I tried a Miso from the store the other day, and didn't like it at all! Tasted like a "tea soup" - that clear onion soup looks very promising and i'm going to try whipping up some of that tonight or tomorrow! Thank you everyone.

It's right there in the appetizers. And I have checked back to 2011 and it's the same thing.
