What songs remind you of Florida?

Are there any songs that provide a connection to happy memories of visits? Perhaps the songs get you psyched for your trip?

Let's hear what you got...I'll start off.

"Don't Stop The Rock" by Freestyle reminds me of landing on the ground in Florida and thinking of all the non-stop possibilities in that state.

"This Is My Night" by Chaka Khan pumps me up with thoughts of having fun of Pleasure Island, dancing, laughing and interacting.

Anything from the "Back To The Future" soundtrack reminds me of Universal Orlando.

The state itself? Anything by Jimmy Buffett or anything from the first "Miami Vice" soundtrack.

So, what do YOU got?

Sincerely,

John "anotherboardnposter" Kilduff

"Save the Best for Last" - our first trip to Florida was back in 1992. We stayed at Cocoa Beach but drove to WDW every day. The song was played over and over on the radio and to this day I can still see myself on the Bee Line Expressway singing at the top of my voice on the way to Disney. Wonderful memories.

'Going Back to Miami'....:D

Anything Jimmy Buffett

Vacation by the Go Go's (we heard it in Publix and then again on Primeval Whirl)

Disneyland by Da Da

Holly

Low by Cracker and anything off Smashing Pumpkins' Siamese Dream CD

Mainly because I used to listen to those CDs on my way to and from college in Orlando (UCF).

Got to love Wayne Cochran, Heather. Great choice.

I think 'When you Wish Upon a Star' reminds me of FL. :earsboy:

I agree with any JB tunes...but I also have to add Miami Sound Machine....I remember having to purchase their first u.s. album in Ft. Lauderdale in '85...wasn't available up north!:p
Margaritaville is always good for a quick mental get-a-way down south!

All Disney songs and "U Can't Touch This" by MC Hammer. It was the first song on our rental car radio the first time DH and I went there together.:D

We always heard Gloria Estefan on the radio when DH and I vacationed in Florida. We never heard her at home in Arizona. We used to joke that there was a state law that required she be played a minimum number of times during the day.

After DH interviewed for a job in Florida, we heard her on the radio every single day in Arizona. It was weird, and we used to say it was a sign. He even got superstitious and would worry if he hadn't heard her yet. Sure enough, he got the job.
