I believe that in the main dining rooms apart from smoothies and Alcoholic drinks there are other drinks that are included in the cruise fare such as juices etc. eg Apple juice are available at dinner and perhaps breakfast. Can you previous cruisers on the Magic help us newbies what exactly is available in the Dining room and at the beverage station. I ask this because we have 5 grandchildren with us on our cruise next month. I know that anything from a can or is ordered with your KTTW card is chargeable but I would like a run down on the other drinks that are available. Many many thanks for any answers.

I had ginger ale every evening, and I was not charged extra. Ginger Ale is not available at the 24 hr drink station and neither is apple juice. I believe you can also get a glass of apple juice at dinner along with soft drinks, milk, chocolate milk for your grandkids at no additional charge.

We just got off the Magic a month ago, and all soft drinks were included. Not only did they have a 24/7 drink station with Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, coffee, tea, etc., you could order any of these at meals, and there is no extra charge. At Topsiders buffett and in the dining rooms, there were also milk and juice stations at no additional charge. It's not like Carnival or Royal Caribbean where you have to buy a drink card. Hope this helps!:flower3:

Fruit juices and multiple varieties of milk (chocolate, skim, 2%, whole) are available 24/7 at no additional charge from the dining rooms, room service, buffet, etc. In addition, you are free to take milk from the buffet or ask your server for cartons and keep them in your refrigerator. Soft drinks on board are coke products--these are included with your cruise fare whether you get them at the beverage station or the dining rooms. Fancier drinks for kids--it depends. If your server puts cherries in your sprite or coke, that's a freebie. If a bar tender fixes something, it likely has a charge.

As you noted, sodas in cans are charged.

I really enjoy soda water (club soda), and you can get it in the MDRs. On one cruise the waiter said no, he had to be shown where it was in the kitchen by the head waiter, but generally have had no problem getting it.

By the way, it was a button on the drink station. I am not a big fan of asking for special things, I know how hard the waiter work and how many other cruisers insist on something special. We love what they offer, and once I found that the carbonated water was just as easy as any other sodas, I didn't feel bad about asking for it.

I have heard of guests being charged for root beer, because they had to get that out of a can.

Our girls also enjoyed Shirley Temples, at no extra charge. Our servers recommended it on the first night's dinner and it became the girls go-to drink anytime we ate in a dining room (lunch or dinner).

I agree with the previous cruiser, ask for Shirley Temple. For those that may not know, it's Sprite, grenadine and cherries. Also order a Roy Rogers. Same as the other drink, but instead of Sprite, they use Coke. Funny story about this drink.....my neice went with us on her first cruise about 3 years ago (she's 26 now). And the first night, I ordered a Roy Rogers. Well my neice knows that I don't drink alcohol, and she didn't know what a Roy Rogers drink was. So after my second one, she said she was thinking, "gosh, he really cuts loose on these cruises, and drinks alot". It wasn't until the end of dinner that first night, until she found out that it was Coke, grenadine and cherries....no alcohol. We still laugh about that!

Is "regular" Lemonade available anywhere on the ship? In the MDRs or at the bars? Free or for an extra charge?

It has been 10 years and I still have terrible withdrawal symptoms.

So no orange soda? Crush, Fanta, etc?

My kids were begging me for one yesterday and I told them to wait until the cruise. If they want it, they'll have to carry their own.:rotfl2:

What about iced tea? My husband really enjoys his sweet tea.

Iced tea is included in the cruise fare. It's available at the drink station, as well as in the buffet and the MDRs. It's regular iced tea, not sweet tea. He'll have to doctor it up himself.

:cutie:

Smoothies are free at breakfast. On the Magic a couple weeks ago they had them at Goofy's Galley next to the parafaits. In the MDR's (we've sailed Magic and Dream) they are on the menu but is not clearly described as a smoothie (it lists the ingredients so the first time we thought it was a fruit and yogurt plate). The strawberry one is called a Tugboat. I don't know why they don't advertise this, they are so good. We had so many people ask us where we got ours.

We havent' found the smoothies to be free. We were always charged for them at the MDR's. I didn't know where they are at breakfast. Are you talking the buffet or having breakfast at a sit down meal? Sounds like you were walking around with them, in which case I would think you got it at a bar. I would love to know how to get free smoothies!!!!! I love them!

Thanks
