What snacks to bring into the park?

We're cheap. I admit it. We're going down with our travel trailer and I, with few exceptions, plan to eat there and bring snacks into the parks to avoid the high prices. We've done it before and I have distinct memories of feeling like, *whine* "I don't wanna eat that!" when there's Dole Whips two feet away.

We typically bring 100 calorie packs of crackers and cookies, nuts and fruit snacks. Give me some more ideas to keep it interesting. What do you bring? And if it's something that requires an ice pack, how do you handle that?

Thank you!

Anything Disney themed. They have those Disney snack cakes, Disney fruit snacks. With my kids, they are happy when I give them food I don't usually allow at home, like pop tarts, dunkaroos, pre-packaged rice krispy treats... It makes every snack way more exciting.

Try Brothers All Natural Fruit Crisps! Very low cal, no fat, value priced (I got a bad for 99 cents at my grocery strore). No artificial anything! Tasty, sweet and come in a variety of flavors. It's real fruit. PLUS, they come in different Disney character pouches!! Love them!

Nissi~That was one of the best tips ever!! Perfect! Thanks for posting that. I'm adding to my 30 page list of notes. ;-) But it's making it to the first page after our itinerary and budget. : )

we take rice krispie treats and little individual bags of teddy grahms/mini oreos/mini chips ahoy, nothing unique or special, but we always enjoy them! ;)

Well, we take full lunches into the parks! If we don't do that, we have to go to Disney fewer times! Food can cost as much or more than the park tickets.

We take in a backpack cooler and here is what we typically pack:

Trail Mix (various nuts, raisins, M&Ms)
Pringles large can
PB&J sandwiches
Sliced Apples
string cheese
baby carrots
small container of dip
granola bars
crackers (lanz or cheese-its)
Water bottles
Ind. flavors to put in waters

We always take snack sized fig newtons. Works perfectly when you get the munchies.

How about letting your family pick their own out? They can't complain as much that way :)

We too bring our own lunches, usually sandwiches, because we hate wasting two hours at a restaraunt. My kids' favorite snack is ritz crackers with the spray on cheese.

I bring in a soft sided cooler and bring in a lunch as well as snacks. Pb&J, rice crispy treats, Go-Gurts, string cheese, frozen juice boxes, granola bars, fruit leathers are few things I pack.

I always get Disney gummies and granola bars, but never end up eating them because we have SO MUCH FOOD on the dining plan. Find someone on the DDP trying to use up credits before they go home, LOL!

They have Disney "animal cracker" cookie types too. I saw them in church nursery when I worked :)

Mini pretzels are a good thing to take. Also, if you are tempted by some of the disney snacks, make some yourself! Like for instance the rice crispy treat mickey heads. Just get some rice crispy treats, cut them in the shape of a mickey head and whenever you get tempted, remember that you brought the same snack with you! Its easier if you have a mickey head mold or cookie cutter

Also, try the disney shaped chocolate snacks. they sell them in grocery stores.

Oh! and if you have a dollar tree near, go there and buy all the snacks you need! :)
