What size suitcase with wheels......

fits under the seat? I am assuming the kids are not allowed backpacks at this point, or if they fit under the seat are they allowed? I would be very interested in the what exactly the space is under the seat. I know that I will get the wrong size unless I have the measurements. Thanks!

Go to your airlines website and they will give you the exact limitations on carryons. As far as I know the kids can take their backpacks as long as they fit under the seat.

For USAir, the measurements are:

Overhead: 10 x 16 x 24
Underseat: 8 x 16 x 21
Valet Bags: 4 x 23 1/2 x 45 (these would have to be folded and go in overhead)

My DH just told me he wasn't taking his briefcase, so that should help out as well.
