I saw in the scapbooking thread that some have photos that are 6x8 and they bought the 20 picture package.

What other sizes do the shots come in?

What are the package sizes? Is 20 the smallest package?

What did you get and why?

What was the cost?

Thanks everyone...:teeth:

6 x 8 and 8 x 10 are the picture sizes available. The packages are pretty good deals. We got 10 6 x8's for about $85 on our 3 day cruise last year and only took 7 of them. We got to pick 3 regular pics of characters that we wanted to make up the rest. For our cruise this year we are planning on buying the 20 pic package since we will be on a 7 day eastern trip.

they also have a 15 picture package as well. One thing to note is that the packages only include the 6 X 8. So if you get attached to any of the 8 X 10's youll be paying the $20 a picture. Also If you can change your package anytime you want during the cruise. So if you decide you want more you can upgrade..if you decide you want less you can lower your package. We had no problem getting our 20 6 X 8's and I don't even want to tell you how many 8 X 10's we bought... :(

Yeah, it doesn't matter which package you go with at first. However many pictures you end up with will determine the final cost. You select a package (10, 15 or 20, right?) and get a card that they mark for each picture you purchase. This past cruise we started with a 15-picture package (for two families). Eventually moved up to 20 when we passed 15. I think we ended up with 16 pictures total (of the 6x8 size). So, the last night we were reimbursed for the 20-picture package, then charged for the 15 package plus an additional 6x8. This of course doesn't include any 8x10s. So, it really doesn't matter if you want to be conservative or not with the package you choose.

On the ship they sell 6x8 picture frames (imagine that:)!) On land we have always had a hard time finding frames this size. And when you do find them they usually are both ugly and expensive. Don't be afraid to crop your pic's down to 5x7 size (which is a common size frame on land)

Jrabbit -

Where did you find a 6 x 8 frame on land? I went into a photo lab on land that had frames, and they looked at me like I was from another planet when I said I had a 6 x 8 photo.

6X8 frames are hard to come by and you will most likely have to go where the pros go to get their films developed.

Our pro shop here sells them but a normal photolab won't have them.

One option is to buy 8x10 or 11x14 frames and get mats cut to put around your 6x8...The mat gives your photo a look of elegance and importance. You can also pick a mat colour that matches the frame and your wall colour.

I love matted prints...That way you could have a ton of different size prints in the same size frames for a coherent look. It will look like they all belong.

Just my 2 cents...

When you go to look at the photos are some 6x8 and some 8x10?
can they do extra prints of a photo for you?

Thanks

Can someone please tell me about them doing extra prints or making prints in different sizes?

they will be happy to make you extra prints for the regular price. Don't know about them changing the size. You can also download a release at www.image.com so you can get your own reprints at home. I took the release & the pics to a Walgreen's & used the Kodak picture maker for a lot less than I would pay on the ship. You can also adjust sizes this way.

We scanned the pictures (8x10s and 6x8s) we got on the cruise into our computer and added them to the ones from our digital camera. Then we custom cropped them using Picture It to fit a 4x6 size so we could choose the positioning of the cropping. Then we burned the results to CD and took the CD to Walgreen's and printed them. FYI, at Walgreen's the 4x6 prints were $.29 each unless you had more than 50 when the price dropped to $.20 each. I would do that before I paid for a second copy on the ship.

I went to Michael's Craft Store and found a photo album binder that holds 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 pictures. They also had the top loading clear sleeves that hold the same size pics. I barely had to trim anything to make them fit. Everything was pretty reasonable too. The album was $4.99 and the 25 pack of sleeves were $3.29. They are really called Junior Scrapbook and Junior Memory Album Page Protectors.

I thought this was a great deal and gave me someplace to store my cruise pics.
