We are a family of 5 (kids are going to be 5 1/2, 10 and 10 for the cruise). What configurations are the tables in the dining rooms on the Magic? Would we have our own table or share a huge table with other families? Thanks!

I was at a table for 8 on the Wonder, 2 groups of 3 and a couple.

We were a family of 3 with a family of 5. Also saw tables for 10.

Wolfpack-- No tables for 2. Sorry! We were interested in this on our last cruise too. Luckily though we were seated at a table for 8 and had 2 really nice families of 3. It was fun!

We've asked for a 4-topper (4 person) table on our last two cruises -- but did not get it. But then again, there are only three of us, so that is really wasting a seat. However, we were told this time we have a very good chance because DCL is breaking down tables and trying to seat more families alone.

I think the tables are 4, 8, 10 and 12. There are no tables for 2.

On our Wonder cruise in Jan 2002, we were a party of 6 (four of us and my in-laws) and we had our own table. When we went back on the Wonder in Oct 2002, we had our own table for the 4 of us. Does anyone know what criteria they use to allocate the tables? Obviously numbers are a factor but is there anything else they go by?

They have table of 2.

Last February we saw a man with his boy and they have a table of 2.

Good question! There are just 2 of us (myself and DD) and I'm really hoping DCL doesn't take it upon themselves to seat me at a "singles" only table  Any single parents out there care to comment on how they were seated for dinner?

jin diesel: Call DCL (or your TA) and tell them that you DO NOT want to be seated at a singles table or alone, but want to sit with families with similar aged children. They WILL note it on your reservation and do everything they can to accommodate that type of request. And if you don't like where you are sitting after the first night, go to guest services and ask for a change. They want to make you happy -- they try hard to!

I think they try to put families with other families with children around the same ages. We sat with a great family of 5 who had children 8, 6 and 2. Our son was 6.
