This is my first post on the board so I apolagize if this is in the wrong place. I have been reading and absorbing all the information I can to have the best disney trip possible. We are going to book our trip once the 2010 rates are released. We are wanting to travel in February of 2010.

My question is, should I book with Disney's official site or will I get better rates going through another site?

If you book through Disney's site, you will have control of your reservations. So, if changes are needed, you can do it all yourself. If you book through one of the many authorized Disney sites, then they will have control of your reservation. The advantage of some of these sites are if a code comes out that would work with your booking, they will get the better rate for you. If you book through Disney you have to keep checking to see if any codes come out. The many of the other sites will make your ADRS for you, with the Disney site you have to do your own.

Last time we booked through AAA, and didn't have to worry about the price changing, but had to make our own. This next trip we are going to book through Mouse Fan Travel, because a friend works for them and she will check for any codes that may come out and she will book our ADR's. Most with this company will get up at 7AM and do their best to get what you want.

Good luck with your decison. We will be booking for out Dec. 2010 trip as soon as the prices come out in August.

Thanks for your response. I will have to go back to find out what some of those letters mean.

I used Dreams Unlimited, they were able to use the military discount for rooms, and we got a great deal. I know alot of people like to control their own ressie, but I'm too busy to do that stuff, and have never had any problems with letting them take the reins and make the ressies and stuff for me. My lady I deal with has been great, and any changes have been done in a timely manner. So they come highly recommended.

I uses Small World Vacations, great service, always responded quickly with my questions. Made my ADR's for me (from the west coast, so I did not have to get up :rotfl:) all within 10 minutes of when I wanted them. Highly recommend.

I'm the type who likes to be in control so I booked our Sept. trip on the Disney site. Very easy. And now that the dining reservations (ADR's) can be done on-line that's easy too. That just started this week. I had made some by calling but ended up doing the last one on-line - worked like a charm (and no long-distance bill). After the free dining plan came out I decided to check to see if we could get it so that's the only other call I've made - had free dining set up within a couple of minutes and the confirmation e-mail in a few minutes. We got our paperwork showing the free dining in the mail last week. Now I just have to pay the balance in July and we'll be all set for our Sept. 5th first trip to Disney for our 41st anniversary.

We have used Small World Vacations in 2007 and 2009
GREAT service!

plus, you only have to put a $200 deposit and pay off your trip 45 days before arrival.

First time in 2007, we paid it in full... this time for Sept 2009 we paid our deposit and then made 2 more payment installments and our trip was paid for.

We love our agent ANNETTE! Can't say enough good stuff about her!

She even called me from her cell on vacation to get my deposit both times! LOL- Great customer service, just what one would expect. :)

I've used Magical Journeys twice now (5yrs ago and for our current trip). They are excellant and very prompt in answering my questions. They also keep their eye out for codes and discounts and apply them right away!

You will not get a better rate....

I think all the travel agencies offer the same thing at the same price. Whatever Disney allows for a discount is what you will get. All agents are able to offer the same services, book your room, get your ADRs, buy tickets for you. You will not get much of a price difference between agencies.

Some might offer a "bonus" such as a little book, travel bag, luggage tags, probably with the agency name on it.

Last year I booked with Mouse for Less. I liked the information on their web site. They applied AAA discount to my WDW room, but any travel agency would do that. They offered a private party at their Animal Kingdom Lodge DVC villa for their clients during Mousefest. That was pretty cool.

Next trip I book would likely be through Dreams Unlimited because I so appreciate the Disboards.

In fact, I did book with Dreams Unlimited for the December 2010 podcaast cruuise.
