What singer has the very best voice ever?

I was thinking today about how amazing Karen Carpenter's voice was. It was so clear and pure and unique. I was thinking that maybe she has the best singing voice ever.

I then thought that Johnny Mathis has the best, clearest male singing voice ever.

Who do you think has the best female and male singing voices EVER?

I love to hear Phil Collins and Sting sing, so I would have to say them. On the female side, first thing that comes to mind is Celine Dion.

I heard Karen Carpenter just the other day and was wowed
once again by her amazing talent. I also like Linda Ronstadt's
voice and the fact that her range extends to light opera as well
as rock, country, blues and jazz. I also loved early Joan Baez. For men, I'd have to say I loved John Raitt(Bonnie's dad) and Robert Goulet. Harry Connick Jr. is good, Frank Sinatra was very good.

I forgot to mention that I would rate Bob Dylan right up there with Neil Young. Hahahahah I'm not saying they are bad musicians BUT there voices are not ranked up there in my book or probably most of yours either.

Hard to say who is best.

Celine Dion used to be just amazing, but I think she is way too commercialized now! I think Toni Braxton has an amazing voice.........but have not heard from her in a long time.

As for men, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Kenny Chesney!! I don't know if it is more to listen to him or look at him! I think Luther Vandross has an amazing voice as well!
