What should I wear to the campus presentation?

My college is having a campus presentation soon and i was wondering how should i dress for the presentation?
 
When I went to the campus presentation, it was in the "old days" before the phone interviews, so the interviews were right after the presentation. I wore a shirt and tie, I'd say probably 4-5 (out of about 30 in the room) were in shirt/tie, about 10-15 were business casual, and everyone else was dressed casual.
 

You can go casual (preferably business casual) as others suggested, but I went professional as mine was the on-campus presentation, plus the on-site interview, and I don't do casual for interviews.

As someone said once, you dress for the job you want.

yeah but there are no on-site interviews anymore. everything is all phone interviews now so people can wear whatever they want to the presentation.
 
Yeah, last semester when I went it was completely casual. They asked us to sign in but they didn't even know who we were by looking at us.

I wish they hadn't stopped doing on-campus interviews. To me it kind of defeats the purpose of even going doing an on-campus presentation. I'm wondering if they're going to scrap the on-site presentations altogether. :sad1:
 
I doubt they'll do that. It probably gets a lot of people who have never thought about the CP to sign up. If it's only E-Presentation they'll have to market it a lot more.

But I do with there was on-site interviews. I'm absolutely awful at talking on the phone. I get nervous talking to my closest friends on the phone...doing an interview? god, that was a nightmare.

Well, what will/has happened is that a lot of the 'area' recruiters are going to disappear and be replaced by campus reps (who just get seasonal park benefits). (Which will make it cheaper for them to not have a full-time employee on staff.)

They'll only have to market as much for the e-presentation as they do for the on-site, so it's still possible. Most companies these days do everything through their website. If you want to apply for a regular disney position you're expected to go through Disneycareers.com. I believe Disney is moving towards this option with 'phone-only' interviews.

I dislike phone interviews because their impersonal and you don't get sense as to who you're talking to at all. I find that I do much better on in-person interviews as I'm interacting with a person, not a headset.

Where did you come across this information?

Campus Reps have existed for as long as I can remember and were never replacements for recruiters. They just assisted them to promote the school presentation. hanging posters and doing info tables and stuff like that.

They have also always had reps at schools that never held school presentations. these reps would promote the presentation at a school nearby and when the epresentation came about, they promoted that too as an option.

I wouldn't be surprised that they would focus more on the e-presentation, though. It wouldn't be to eliminate a full time job and replace it with someone w/o benefits. They would see a greater benefit as a cost savings in travel expenses (air, hotel, food).

Their move to phone interviews freed up the campus recruiters to do more on-site promotion when they were on campus and schmooze faculty. It also gave them some travel savings because they would send one or more people in addition to the actual recruiter to campuses to help with the face to face interviews.

You're right that it boils down to saving money, though. Seems like anything disney does these days is to cut costs somewhere.
