What Should I order at Flying Fish

Going to the FLying fish for the 1st time. We always pass by and say we have to try it and this time we are going to

what should i order?

any good drinks as well?

We have eaten at FF many times and I always enjoy the Potato wrapped Snapper. If you have never been there before, it would be my recommendation, as it is their signature dish. As far as appys go, we like the calamari.

I have also enjoyed their scallops too. Keep your eyes open for the chefs dish of the day. They often change some of the offerings seasonally.

I really like their crab cakes as an appetizer. I think their wine list is quite good too.

I'm happy with the tuna tartare and the cheese plate.

They do nice wine flights too.

When we had dinner at FF we ordered both the snapper and scallops. While both were good we really liked the scallops better. We'll be going back in January and I'm planning on getting the scallops.

The potato wrapped snapper is very good but I've also never been disappointed in the chef selection for the day. The crabcake appetizer and the BLT/soup appetizer are very good.

<sigh> I've never been disappointed by their desserts either. I think my absolute favorite was a seasonal selection of three mini desserts with strawberries.

DH loved his Jonah Crabcake- said it was the best crabcake on WDW property.

I had the tuna tartar, and was glad i tried it, it was good, but i wished I had gotten the crabcake.

Entrees-
We both got the scallops, (only 4 scallops) the side depends on the season, last Sept. it was a overly salted risotto and we wished we had ordered something else.

Dessets-
DH loved his key lime torte (no longer on the menu ) and i got a study in chocolate, the best part of which was the white chocolate creme brulee with blueberries.

Everytime we go, my husband plans to get the snapper, but the server talks him out of it and into something else! He has NEVER been disappointed. I always order a vegetarian selection. Last time, it was an unbelievable lemon-y pasta dish.

We've been to FF 10-15 times and we've had almost everything on the menu. The snapper is my least favorite. It's rather bland. The scallops, with whatever seasonal risotto on the side, have always been excellent. I never plan ahead when it comes to ordering, because new things always pop up on the menu.

For apps, you can't go wrong with the crab cake, mussels, calamari or tuna tartare.

The OP asked about drinks. I'm a beer/wine person, but DW likes the Pineapple Upside-Down martini.

This is what we ordered too despite my misgivings about the veal demi-glace on it. The snapper is very good, but didn't blow my mind. The best calamari, OTOH, I have ever had and I like to try it everywhere it is offered (not just at the World) and my favorite cheese plate in the World.

We thought the desserts were pretty meh. I had the banana napoleon and DH had a berry shortcake kind of thing.

Overall, FF is not our favorite signature but I would gladly return (giving Kouzzina a try this trip instead).

I highly recommend their NY Strip, if you don't mind giving up seafood as an entree. It sounds crazy, but it's the best steak I've had at Disney.
