What should I expect at the waterparks in summer?

For both BB/TL, I'd expect crowds but have never been to the waterparks. Is there a line to get in at openning and baggage search similar to MK? If the park opens at 10, do you have to que up at 9:30? Thanks.

There is usually a small crowd at opening. We usually get there 15 minutes before posted opening and it only takes a few minutes to be snagging a good chair. You can usually get a few runs on the most popular slides and tubes before it gets crazy. If you are staying on-site, BB and TL have EMH in the AM and I think TL has a few EMH in the PM...It would pay to get there for the EMH in the AM, IMO. ;)

Iam interested in this also. I can't decide wether to do disneyquest or water park in the AM and the other in PM.
I was thinking DQ in the morning after breakfast and then water park at about 12 o clock till 4 or 5 pm??
Would this work in late August or would WP in the AM till about 2pm be better?

I would do the waterpark in the morning and DQ in the afternoon.

Its good to get to the waterparks first thing in the morning- you can go on the slides before it gets crazy. My bf and I have gotten there at noon and we are standing in a huge line just to get a locker while everyone else is having fun.

DQ doesn't get crowded during the day. I've only seen it busy on Fri/Sat nights.

It's a better idea to do the water parks in the morning in the summer. By noon, the sun gets pretty unbearable and I always seem to get sunburnt at TL! So now we tend to get there first thing when everything is empty, and then leave around lunchtime.

AAAAHH!! No do waterpark in the AM! By 11AM we have always had it with the crowds. It starts to get packed as people that wanted to sleep in make their way over. And you need to get there early to get a seat in the shade- they are few and far between. You can get in several runs quickly in the AM. We were able to do the water Coaster about 3 times no line- and when we left it had a 90 minute wait!! So can I stress enough as everything in Disney(except Disney Quest) GO EARLY!! In the summer you often get the afternoon thundershower that closes the waterpark. If you really want to go in the PM you would have to keep fingers crossed that a thunderstorm closed the park for awhile. We were able to do TL in the AM and then head over to DTD right after for lunch.(another waterpark nightmare is food! the lines are unbelievable and the food is horrible)
