What should I do???

I made a reservation for BWV for Oct. 14 thru Oct. 19. This is a fri-wed ressie, studio bwv view. I want to go so bad, but after talking with DH about it, I think it will be best to wait until next year. So, I either need to cancel the reservation or I thought I might rent it to someone.
What would be my best way to go?
It used 82 points up, so it's not the best use of points since we used it over a weekend.
Should I try to rent out the reservation or put the points back and rent my points out? I even thought about putting it on ebay.

I wish we could still go, but we did agree to take a trip back to HH with some of our points. We went there and loved it so much!

Are you past your banking deadlines? What is your use year? DId you use any banked or borrowed points for the ressie?

If it were me and I could still bank the points, that would be my first choice. If it were more than 60 days before the end of my use year, I might even use the points for a short trip somewhere within driving distance (take a look at the Conceirge Collection). HHI or VB would be options, too. (At least I wouldn't need any park tickets for them, LOL).

If the points aren't in a banked or borrwed status, you could transfer them to another member - that would be the easiest way to turn the points into cash.

You may have trouble renting your existing reservation because it includes a Friday and Saturday night - you might have to offer it for quite a bit less than the "average" price of $10-$12 per point to get someone to bite. If you have to rent a reservation, a better choice may be to just offer the points on the Rent/Trade Board and see what people are looking for.

I hope I get this all right. But, I'm still fairly new to it all.

We banked points for 2004. We used 75 points to go to HH and had 16 left over so we have those to do something with.
We booked the trip off of the banked 2004 points. So, can we just cancel and they will go back in? And , then can we rent points out if they are banked?

We may just use those 82 points to go back to HH, but I don't see that the trip will use that many points, so there will still be points left over.

Am I just confusing everyone? Because I think I may be confusing myself. Thanks

you use banks points for this entire reservation or just the 16 points.

can you still cancel the reservation and bank 2005 year?

or is it past your banking date?

you can still make a reservation at HH use the bank points first - then use any of the 2005 you need - then bank the rest of 2005.

if you find that you can make a trip later you can borrow from 2006 - but you only want to do this - if you are certain and I mean certain you can go.

It would help to know your use year and the total number of points in your contract.

If you used banked points to make the trip you are cancelling, you will need to use the banked points before the end of your use year. If you don't, they will expire.

You can use the banked points to make a reservation for someone else - in other words you can make and then rent a reservation made with the banked points you get back from the cancelled reservation. (You can't just transfer banked points to another member).

Your stay has to occur before the end of the use year. Doesn't matter when you call to make the reservation.

For example, if you have a February use year, the points expire on February 1 of the following year. The last night you can use 2004 points that were banked into 2005 would be January 31, 2006.

Again, it doesn't matter when you call to make the reservation, the stay itself has to occur betweeen 2/1/2005 and 1/31/2006 if you want to use 2004 banked points (and have a February use year).

You must use the points for a trip before the end of your use year. You can't book a ressie into the next use year.

I wouldn't think you would have any trouble renting the ressie, weekend nights or not. Watching the Boards, it is obvious that October at BWV is sold out or close to it because of the Food & Wine Fest. On the contrary to not being able to rent, I might think it would command a premium because of scarcity.
