What should I do?

Well I have booked our Disney trip for next December 08. We have promised the kids we would go because they have been begging to go when the decorations are up. I have booked for the first week after Thanksgiving hoping it would not be as crowded. Well I just found out I am pregnant and due at the end of July. I still want to go on the trip. I think the baby will be fine in the stoller and all that stuff. My husband is not to sure. He thinks it might be to hard with the baby. We have a 8 and 5 yr old and we know what we are doing when we go to Disney so it will not be our first time. I figure the baby will sleep in the stoller and we can get it (her :) )out and carry her some of the time. The baby will be a little over 4 months (having a planned c-section, so know it will not be late)
What does every one else think. Am I nuts to take a baby to disney?

We took my nephew when he was 11 months old and he had a ball! I had a friend take her son when he was 9 months old...LOVED IT! Basically it boils down to each his own. If you feel you are up to it...go for it!!!! The Disney Magic is for all ages!!!

The easiest age I've ever had a child at WDW was at 7 months. I'd do it. I'm planning the 08 trip right now--picking exact dates & hotel in hopes the bounce back rate will still be in effect this weekend when we get there and I'm beginning to wonder if I'm pregnant. Of course, I've been so busy it could just be being run down. Anyhow... I'd probably be having a baby in August and will be going at the end of September/beginning of October. Obviously, doesn't bother me any.

I took my DD for her first trip at 5 months, and again to celebrate her first birthday. She was much easier the first trip! Take a stroller that reclines fully (so she can nap) and a sling/carrier (to make standing in line and getting on/off rides easier) and have a great time! I'm sure your older two will enjoy getting "show" their new sibling all their favorite Disney things!

I'm taking a 3 1/2 month old next week -- I think (hope!) it'll be just fine and I hear that people do it all the time!

I've seen so many infants there sleeping in their mother's arms or being pushed around in the stroller. I wanted to take mine already and she's almost 4 months.

You can actually use the baby care centers. They are really nice.

The youngest I've taken is 10 months. She was so easy.

Congratulations on the pregnancy. I'd still go ahead with the plans.

Wer have traveled with an infant to WDW two times. Like you, we had older children and trips planned when we discovered a baby was on the way. We decided to take the trips and we have no regrets.

Our boys were 5 and 6 when we took our oldest dd at 4 months (actually turned 4 months the week we were in Disney). Ironically, having an infant this trip was in no way a stressor...my 25 year old sister on the other hand was a royal pain :lmao:

When our boys were 9 and 10 and oldest dd was turning 5, we made a trip to WDW with our youngest dd at 6 months...such a great age to travel!

Of course, every baby is different and there is just no knowing what your new little person will be like. When we traveled with the 4 month old, she was not yet sleeping through the night. That meant a slower pace since mom tired more easily, but that worked fine for that trip. I think flexibility is key when traveling with a baby.

OMG! I could have almost written this post! I just found out I was unexpectedly expecting! :cloud9: (except I have a 4 yr old son)

I had my DD (now 3) in October '04 and went for Christmas two months later. To be specific, it was exactly 2 months and 1 week after I had her via c-section and one month and 1 week after I had my appendectomy (sp?). It was a very busy couple months!!! :rotfl2:
I was fine and our little one was easy. We took our other DD (now 6) at 5 months and that was good too! We go every 3-4 months and I have to say, when they were really young it was the easiest! Outside of the mass amount of luggage (diapers, formula, bottles, lots of bibs, blankets, etc.), they are pretty easy- they sleep!!! It's actually the "fun" 1-3 years old that are harder- potty training, temper tantrums, walking/running away.

Funny thing- we are finally through all of that and are considering starting over again. ;) Well, I guess if all goes well I can look forward to those peaceful early months of little travelers :lmao:

Have fun and congratulations!!!!

I have taken all my girls to WDW as infants...the youngest being 2 months old.
Take a stroller that is comfy and reclines and definitely get a GOOD carrier like a pouch or ring sling...especially with having two other children, having your hands free to cuddle a newborn or young baby is great. There are also a lot of places (Epcot) that you can't take a stroller into...
I would not worry..you will have a wonderful trip!!
CHeck out http://www.thebabywearer.com/ for info on awesome baby carriers!

My son was MUCH easier on his trip at 3 months then when we had him down in October at 19 months!

You arent nuts at all!! We are taking our newest DD in Jan. and she will be 3 1/2 months old. I am anticipating a very easy trip with her. We went when our 3rd child was 10 mons. old and it was a very easy trip. I am nursing so that will be a breeze. No baby food to have to deal with or bottles. Definately take some sort of baby carrier or sling to use with the stroller. We did this before and it was very easy to get on rides while wearing the baby. You have picked a great week to go. We went that week in 2005 and there was no one there. It is also great weather so you wont have to worry about the baby getting to overheated. Keep your ressies and have fun. Assure your DH that people go everyday with infants and have a GREAT time and make lots of memories- take lots of picutres!!!

Go!! Babies are just so much easier when they are little like that. I think it is very important to keep the promises that you made to your older children. They will be sacrificing enough things already when their younger sibling gets on the scene. It would be a shame to make them give this up, too. The only down side is that you won't be able to ride (as a family) some of the bigger thrill rides that your youngest is now probably tall enough to ride, and that is a shame. That just means more trips to WDW in the future though.

Have fun.
