I've booked holiday on idrive 19th mar to 2nd apr 2004 but have just found out its spring break time

I just want to know if all theme parks are packed at this time, if so i will try to book 2 weeks earlier if thats a quieter time any help would be great.

many thanks sam

Hi Sam, I'm pretty sure that "spring break" varies from state to state in the US and that it does have some effect pretty much all the way through from end of Feb through to early May. When visiting at this time of year I've found the UK Easter holiday has a more noticable effect. Historically the parks are not too bad until the Saturday BEFORE Easter so in 2004 that's going to be April 3rd.

Hi Sam,

We've been twice during spring break and it really wasn't too bad to be honest, nowhere near as busy as memorial weekend.

As Vernon said also, it does vary across the US as to when it is and seems to go on for weeks.

The place was literally FULL of cheerleaders both times though (they host the annual competitions there) much to my brother's delight even if it was his honeymoon!!!!

We were there this year last week in March and first 2 in April.......it was fairly busy but not unmanagable.

We went to the parks for them opening and were ready to leave as they were filling up.

On the occasions we visited later in the day the more popular rides were queued out .....75 mins for rockin rollercoaster:eek:
fortunatley we'd done it already .

We'd go again at this time of year.

Also make sure its not the daytona 500 as I am sure its around that time. Ive read reports before that the parks and accommodation can fill up.

If you go earlier ie Feb keep away from Presidents week which is the third monday in Feb for that whole week.

We often go during Easter/Spring Break and are off again next March.

The weather is ideal at this time of year and although the crowds can be quite high, like Galaxy said, it isn't unmanagable. If you get to the the parks for opening and make use of fastpass you shouldn't have to queue for too long.

I was there this year from the 20th March to the 3 April and from my own experience I would re book different dates, I have never been there and waited for 2 hours the line for the river rapids at Busch before!

It was busy nearly every day and I think this was due to the Spring Break.

We were there this year almost same dates..from 21st March till 12 April, and we waited no longer than 30 mins..refuse to waste precious holiday time doing that!

We just planned what we wanted to see in each park and got that done first (without being too commando like) then took our time just soaking up all the atmosphere...being there for 3 weeks certainly made a difference in that we did everything we wanted....well nearly ..gotta leave something to go back for;)
