what should i do? POP or better for surprise 30th?

taking my husband for a 30th birthday trip...he knows about it, just for 4 days....but i am thinking of switching resorts as a surprise for him! we are used to the WL, and are going here in sept w/ our son who will then be 18m.o...... so it is just the 2 of us going and we are easy to please when we can just get up & go....and the reviews i have seen about pop have been good. we will be checking in late on a fri eve, and i am worried about getting a not so good room b/c of the lateness ( 9pm) and not getting a non smoking. but i am also concerned about the board reviews with the complaints about the pop being a not so relaxing place. the cost difference to switch to the WL is 500+, i can also switch to a moderate for just 200+ but i do not have any exp. in moderates except for CSR and i dont want to stay there again. help? how is Pofq? CBR? thanks!
