What SHOULD a WDW day cost?

In the conversations about EMM and DAH and price increases, i was wondering what people though the median day at Disney should cost, figuring in multi-day tickets and park hoppers and all that. What price for the various parks would be a fair deal to pay for entry? when you factor everything in -- the shows, the rides, the crowds, all of it?

The average one-day seems to be $105. I've seen that with a 7-day, the price for each day comes in about $53; with a 4-day it's $81. Where do you think the median price for what you get?

Each park should have a different price. MK should be about $100. AK (after the nighttime opens) should be about $75. DHS (in its current state) should be about $40. EPCOT (in its current state) should be about $25. DHS will obviously increase in value as it opens new lands over the next few years. EPCOT will really become the "buy one park, get in to EPCOT free" spot by 2020 (aka, it really would not be worth anything to waste a day and attend at cost, but it might be worth buying an MK, AK, or DHS day and hopping over for dinner and a ride or two to empty out MK).

Been thinking on this myself...

In a way, I'd like the price to go both up and down. Set a shorter basic day and charge $85 for it (scaled likewise for multi-day tickets). Say 11am-8pm. Guests staying in moderate and delux resorts get an earlier park open, and those staying at deluxe resorts get a later park close. Essentially charging a premium for extended hours.

To make this work, tickets would be purchased for a specific set of days. The cheaper ticket price can be claimed by anyone booking a wdw resort stay. Those staying off site buy advance tickets at a steep premium (maybe an extra $20-30 per single day ticket scaled similarly for multi-day). If value resorts for a day sell out the cheaper price opens to all. If there is park capacity remaining 30 days prior to the scheduled vacation, any new booking can get the 85 dollar basic day.

This will move more guests into the resorts, which is more profitable for Disney. It let's people of different means pay a little more or less and get a little more or less but it does this in a way that is mostly transparent to those doing it. The lower basic day price will pack the parks a bit, but the extra hours will let those paying a premium get enough extra done to offset the crowds.
