What shoes do I wear?!

I have a mid-calf, olive green, cargo-type, fitted skirt and a rust-colored, mid-butt, ribbed knit sweater/shirt. What do I put on my feet? I'm so not a shoe person and I know that sometimes I can put together some great-looking outfits and then I ruin them with horrendous shoes. What do y'all think I should put on my feet?

How high do they need to be and do I wear hose under them or what? Also, should they have heels or not? I'm terribly challenged when it comes to picking my shoes...I need my hand held every step of the way!

OH YEAH, and there's a slit in the front that goes up to my knees, if that makes a difference.

Any boots and tights, no knee high socks if you have a slit. I have some brown Born loafers that would look good with that outfit too.

The outfit sounds pretty casual, I would go for something like this but I don't do suede, so I'd go leather.
