What room would you request at BWV?

We are a family of five headed to BWV in two weeks and will be staying in a Deluxe Studio - Garden or Pool View for two nights prior to moving over to a 2BR unit at OKW for 6 nights. At the BWV, do you think it is better to request a room close to the bus stop or one closest to the walkway to HS? How long of a walk is it to HS? My husband has a bad back and heading back to the resort after time in the park can be painful for him. He doesn't do well sitting (or standing) on the buses. We prefer boats or pretty short walks.

What are your suggestions?

Depends a bit on where you plan to spend most of your time. If it's just HS, then closest to that walkway. For anywhere else, probably closest to the lobby. That's closest to the bus stop, boat launch (which will also get you to HS), and walk to IG at Epcot. I'd personally suggest the latter because you can take the boat to Epcot or HS or Swan/Dolphin and you can go to the bus stop if you really want to go farther afield. It's a bit longer walk to HS but if a boat trip is OK, it gives you more options.

Close to the lobby. If your husband can't walk long distances then the walk to DHS is too far. It's a good 15 minutes. About a mile or so.

Just a note for reference: the lobby is located on the 2nd floor near the lobby. So close to the lobby could be on any floors from 1-5. So you might want to add a request for a lower floor. The Boardwalk is located on the 1st floor and is an easy walk to the Friendship boats between Epcot and HS.

Walking to Epcot is quick, easy and shaded for most of the walk. On the other hand the walk to HS is longer (15-20 min) and can be very hot, sunny, and humid. For the OP, I would suggest that you skip walking to HS.

I'd advise your husband to rent a scooter for your trip. It will help a lot because there is always a lot of walking no matter where you stay.

I agree with the others - request close to lobby. The elevator will be your closest spot to get to the buses and the walking paths to EP and the boat launch. As others have said, the DHS path is quite long and doesn't sound like it will work for your DH.
