What room to request at Beach Club?

Hi all! We are booked to stay at the Beach Club Resort 9/21/14-10/2/14. This is our first time at a deluxe resort. (Usually we stay at a value resort.)

Would anyone be willing to help with what room to request as far as location is concerned? We have a "garden view." We are completely unfamiliar with BC and are hoping to not be too far out of the way. Are there rooms/areas that we should avoid?

Any tips for staying at the BC?

Thank you so so much!

We would request in this order:
1. Room with a FULL balcony (not all rooms at BC have full balconies)
2. Room close to an elevator. Many rooms can be quite a hike!
Enjoy!

I requested a full balcony. We had a garden view and were looking at trees from a high floor. At night we were able to see the top of Illuminations from our balcony. Great room and view! Our room was closer to Epcot than a room closer to the lobby. I liked it that way. there was an elevator on our end of the hotel too. We were pretty close to the quiet pool, which I loved. You may want to be closer to the lobby, the Marketplace and Stormalong Bay. It really depends on what you like. I felt that the Beach Club is not that spread out and a short walk to everything.

You are going to love it! Head over to the BC/YC thread and hit the first few pages. Tons of awesome info. Also the people over there are big time BC fans and can answer just about anything. :-)

I will probably be the only one who posts this on here, but my husband and I did not care for Beach Club. We stayed October 2013 for Food and Wine. We felt the villas were really run down and in need of a good remodel and maintenance. I was in Room 474, which was a one bedroom villa, it looked over the canal and parking lot. Was not thrilled with the long walk from our villa to Epcot, I could have done the same walk from Boardwalk which I will stay in next time. Ducks swam every day in the quiet pool and I did not care for the food from the quick serve. So, there will be one less person requesting Beach Club for future visits. My favorite resorts are Wilderness Lodge, Boardwalk and Animal Kingdom Lodge. We are DVC owners at both SSR and AKV's. :confused3

It appears from the OP's post that they are staying at the Beach Club Resort (hotel), not the BCV (Beach Club DVC Resort). The views and balconies for the hotel are totally different from the DVC portion.

We stayed at BC last spring and loved the hotel and our location. We were on the first floor right around the corner from the market place and lobby. Our patio faced the pool area and since it was the first floor we found it very easy going back and forth to the pool. It was nice to be able to enter through the sliders rather than walk through the lobby each time. And, being near the market was great for filling mugs and getting snacks! We will definitely ask for a similar location again!

We stayed in garden view room last fall and loved it. We requested a courtyard view when we made our reservation on the phone. When I completed online check in, I requested a full balcony and a higher floor. We ended up on the 4th floor.

Straight ahead

I would also like to issue an invitation to you to join us over on the Beach & Yacht Club FAQ thread. Click on the link in my signature.

As others have mentioned, if you want a full balcony, make sure you add a request to your reservation. Only about 50% of the rooms at the BC have full balconies.

Here are a couple of posts from there- one about room requests and one with photos of room views at the Beach Club. Garden view is something green, either a courtyard or woods view usually.

Room Requests:

How do I make a request on my reservation? How many requests should I make? What should I request?

You should note any requests on your reservation through Disney's CRO (Central Reservation Office) or your travel agent can add it when your trip is booked, or anytime thereafter. Requests should be made no later than 2 weeks before you will arrive at the resort.

Please remember that requests are not guaranteed.

The fewer requests you have, the more likely there will be a room available that meets your most important preference(s).

Your best bet is to request what you want in words, not room numbers. The chance that a particular room will be available during your trip is not as likely as finding a room that satisfies your room preferences. If you request a specific room, and there is someone staying in the room on the day you check in, the room assigner will have to place you in a different room. If they don't know what your priorities are, they will have trouble giving you another room that has the attributes you want.

When you arrive at the resort for checkin, you can ask before you take your keys if your requests were granted, and if not, see if there is anything available that meets your needs.

There may not be a room available with the request you made when you check in (e.g. full balcony, daybed, king bed). If your request is important enough that you are willing to change rooms later in the week, ask when a room will be available and see if you can arrange to switch rooms.

Requests vary because what is important to one family may be different for another family. Some popular requests are full balcony at the Beach Club, a day bed, close to lobby (or elevator or Stormalong Bay), close to Concierge Lounge (if you are staying club level) or close to EPCOT.

That is an AWESOME view!! Do you remember what room # or what building you were in? We are in the same shoes as the OP: 1st time BC stay and so not at all familiar with which rooms are best. We have Garden View but have seen some that are of overgrown forest areas..... Would much prefer a courtyard view such as this!

We had the exact same view only from the 2nd floor!! I thought we got an upgrade as we had Garden View booked. Our room number was 2577 I think. We loved it!!
