No one on this board has to my knowledge said anything horrible to him.

Not on the board, in VMK.

Sorry I must have missed all these posts about Ned and you. Being Bashed so horribly.

Once again, In VMK. Not everything is said on these boards, Guess what: VMK is an outlet for chat too!

I never said you were being rude to people who crashed I was referring to the comments you had quoated in your first post that you were alleged to have made. If you did not make them then I stand corrected and am sorry.

By the way I am not out of my MIND. I read you post the way you wrote it directed to us here at the DIS. If that is not how you meant it then I think you need to explain that instead of telling me I am out of my mind.

Making fun of a typo from a teenager, how nice.. I don't have any bad feeling against anyone at Dis, but now that I see what goes on here, I'm not going to be staying quite much longer.

He may have done, but I did not read anyone here making those comments and he directed his response to us as DISers not at the people on VMK...at least that is the way he wrote it.

Mal

I'm not even going to bother anymore. It's not worth my time.

Thanks for all of your efforts in the event. I passed you several times and I give you lots of credit for clicking that Turnstile. You sure do deserve a reward for the time spent.

I got my reward, a very nice present from VMK_Babs and Annie. I contributed alot, and it payed off. It worked out well.

I have a question -- the 3 CL's who spent their time, credits, and energy creating and hosting the maze rooms are all very knowledgable about VMK and how it works. Did the VMK staff ever ask them what they thought of hosting a weekend event using only 3 rooms sets, each with only 1 instance?

I'm curious whether Nedakh, Enderz, or Poseidon were ever approached about the obvious outcome of setting up an event that would have such high levels of interest, with such a limited "throughput" on players. We regularly have more than 3,000 players on VMK simultaneously. What exactly did the event organizers expect to happen?

I think it's wrong to blame the room creators. It's also wrong to blame the VMK servers; faster servers would make no difference in this situation. The event disappointed so many people simply because the implementation of it could NEVER accomodate the levels of players that are currently on VMK, and the organizers should have known that.

I just wanted to add one more thing.

I think you are getting the idea that the feelings of many unhappy VMK players here at the DIS are directed at you and the other maze owners or at the people who manned the rooms....they are not.

the unhappiness at vmk is directed solely at VMK. This is not the first event nor will it be the last event(if they continue to do them)that will cause hurt, anger and frustration.

Like I said in my reply to your first post...everyone is thankful for the time you spent whether working the maze, building it or what ever part you had in it. Most however are not happy with the way things went that is no reflection on you as a person or a player.

SeaKing

with that attitude you will probably not get much more. There was no need to be rude to people here or to people who were in your room suffering through all the crashes, stalls and mess that VMK was having that day.
I beleive everyone knows how hard it is to build a maze and how much time and energy you spent doing it and working it. And were thankful that you and the others did them so we could have alittle fun. I beleivemost people know it was not your fault VMK was having problems. Be the bigger person and thank people for trying to play your maze instead of belittling them.

there is a saying " you catch more flies with honey than you do vinegar" remember it.

I didn't think CL_Poseidon was being rude. IMHO, he has every right to be
bitter if everyone was giving him abuse the entire time.

And I think he should be allow to vent that frustration here. Lord knows
we vented quite a bit! :)

I was not making fun of your typo you spelled it correctly the first time.

BriarRose

I am not saying he does not have the right to vent he does. Just needed to make it clear who he was directing his post too. I quess I am like a momma bear you attack my cubs and I protect. Maybe I took his post all wrong and if I did I am sorry.

What exactly do you mean by "Charmed Circle" ?
This was a not so friendly phrase I overheard someone use some time ago in reference to one of the last events. Actually it was inappropriate when I heard it and wrong of me to repeat it. In reading my post again, I wish I hadn't.

I started this thread, so I'll respond and possibly (?) bring it to a close.

I have mixed emotions about everything that was stated here. First of all, SeaKing, my intent was not to insult you. That was why I didn't mention your name in my original post. Yes, in retrospect, I should have also not mentioned that you were running the difficult maze - as that pretty much identified you - but like many people this past weekend, I was not thinking 100% clearly. For the record, I was the person who asked people to stop dancing, but I was not the one who mentioned the hippo rugs. That was somebody else. And whether you meant it or not, I did feel that you were "yelling" at the people in line. And that did sting. After all the troubles people had been having, to be told by someone with even an honorary position in VMK that we should appreciate their work - well, the timing wasn't the best. And, as I stated originally, the fact that CL's - or apparently some CL's - had anything to do with the event was news to a lot of us. Sorry if you felt that we all should have known that from the start. And thank you for your work. It was a beautiful room.

To anyone else whose feelings were hurt, I am sorry. I have often told myself when posting on line to never do so when angry or upset. That it is better to wait a day and THEN post. I didn't follow my own rule Sunday night and, though the thoughts in my post were valid the tone was not right. I should have been less confrontational.

That said, a LOT of good issues and questions have been raised here - much of it by members of the CL community and I think those thoughts are important and I don't regret that they came up.

This will be my last post on this subject - or indeed on the whole Maze event. Back to posts about happier things.

Yeah! Let's talk about PARADES!

Oh, wait...

;)

. . . I see that ALL aspects of (so called) human behavior manage to infiltrate the virtual world as well as the real world! It's hilarious! Carry on, fellow two-leggers!

Oh, and some cheese goes great with all that w(h)ine!

. . . It never ceases to amaze me how people can ALWAYS manage to NOT have fun, no matter what entertainment is provided for them.

I had thought this issue was over. But since a couple of folks like to keep bumping this post back to the top of the list - not to comment on the topic but to point out the perceived character flaws of those who posted previously - I thought I would update you all on the "so-called human behavior" of the people involved.

Sea King (CL_Poseidon) and I met in VMK a couple of days ago - admittedly it was by accident and a bit awkward at first. But we both quickly apologized for things that were said in heated moments and any misunderstandings. We forgave each other, and even had some laughs as we engaged in a "Dance Fight" to settle it once and for all. We are both fine with the outcome and neither bares ill will toward the other.

Forgiveness is one of the finer attributes of the two-leggeds.

A fitting resolution to the whole mess. Now that the forgiving is over, let the "forgetting" begin!
