I haven't been to US in the last 15 years. I'd like to have a starting point for planning my days at the parks. Please tell me what rides and shows you think are must-dos for both US and IOA. I'll be with my husband, my parents (70), and my daughter (7).

Also, if there are any rides that you think would be too scary for my daughter or too wild for my parents, please let me know!

Thanks so much for your opinions.

Julie

Personally...I think all attractions are must sees. You will need to decide which attractions might be too scary for your family but that shouldn't be too hard to do. Just remember to take your time and enjoy...you don't have to rush around like you do at Disney.

In your case everyone but your parents should be able to go on every ride with no problem. With your parents it depends on how frail they think they are, so in order of roughness the rides would be:

Extremely Rough

The Mummy
The Simpsons

A Few Good Jolts

Jimmy Neutron

Mildly Rough In Spots

Disaster
Men In Black
Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit

Some Might Call It Rough

Twister (the floor drops down on you in one section)

Safe for all ages

Everything Else

Thanks for those tips. My parents definitely aren't frail, but Mission Space green did in my Dad for the whole day at Epcot. He doesn't like the motion sickness rides.

Any US/IOA rides that you can think of that he should avoid?

Was green the wuss side or the other one? Idr. My mom couldn't do either cuz she doesn't do spinning but she handles everything at both US/IOA cept she can only do MiB maybe 15 or so times in a row till she stops. She used to do less but I think once you do it a while you get used to it.

Storm force acceleration also is a spinner. Cat in the hat has some spinning. It is not a constant spinning like Mission space was though.

To add what Purseval said... Jimmy Neutron and I believe Twister both have non motion seating/standing.

Hulk and DD are both highspeed coasters that are inverted so its up to your parents if they are wanting to go or not. Daughter probably is not tall enough idk.

Spiderman imo is a don't miss. Fun ride and visuals are awesome. Not a whole lot of movement, I think your whole family can ride.

Dooms Freefall is a ToT type ride but basically just shoots you up fast. Daughter again may not be tall enough. It can be skipped but its a cool little ride. They usually have one side running so line can get kinda long as it only takes 16 at a time.

Popeye is a water ride. Imo its a don't miss, atleast do it once. Prob the best rapids I have been on.

Dudley can be missed. I hate those seats they are mad uncomfortable. Its a Splash mountain type ride. Could be fun for daughter.

Jurassic park is great. Imo its a don't miss. I don't know why I love it but its a fun little water ride that you "usually" walk of rather dry. I got soaked last trip in front row though.

I have not seen Sinbad but it should be fine for whole family...Same with the other one that escapes my mind, but its across from Mythos.

Everything in Seuss Land should be fine.

At US...
Twister
Disaster
Shrek
T2
Beetlejuise
Jimmy - Motionless seating available
Horror Makeup show
Jaws

All should be good.

MiB has some spinning but its fun ride. Imo don't miss it but parents may want to skip. Like Buzz but better.

Mummy - Hybrid Dark ride/High speed coaster. Non Inverted. Daughter may not be tall enough.

Simpsons - Fun and funny. Has some spin simulation. I think your whole family can probably handle it is not too bad imo.

If you get sick on motion simulators that shake you up a lot, then definitely AVOID the Simpsons ride. I've been on twice and both times was praying it would end. The ride is too long.

I have no problem with Mummy. That's a fun ride.

If you get motion sick, stay away from Cat in the Hat!!! I was fine on Simpsons, Spider Man, Hulk, Mummy, Neutron... but CITH got me REALLY dizzy.

I don't do simpsons.. but I can handle most of the rest.. dont' forget the trolley ride with kids. they will love it..

Have a great time!!!
