What rides did you take your BABY on?

Okay, I've been to Disney World a handful of times, but I tend to forget small details of rides... We are going with our son who will be turning One Year Old right before our trip this December.

Any rides One Year Olds particularly like????

What do you think of the following rides???

Kilimanjaro Safari?
Soarin?

:disrocks:

DD 14 months liked Rio de Tempo best, didn't care for darkend rides at all (Peter, Pooh) and at 25 months LOVED the Cinderella's Carosel, Donald's Boat, Dumbo and It's a Small World (which wasn't open wen we went the year before). Loved the monorail and the train. Also, while not a ride, both trips she was CRAZY about the characters - Tigger at 14 months and Belle and Mickey at 25 months. She liked the Safari at 25 months but we thought it might be too rocky at 14 months. Didn't try Soarin' yet as it had just opened the week we were there and the lines were ridiculous! I have to tell you - I am missing my Splash Mountain.
You might be allowed to take the baby on, just don't expect it to be a favourite over the heady excitement of something like the Disney World Railroad or the Splash Pad at Epcot.
;)

My daughter turned 1 about 2 weeks before we went. She absolutely loved Small World. She rocked and clapped her hands through the whole thing. We didn't have a problem with the dark rides. I bought one of those little hand held fans that light up when they spin and it kept her occupied.

She loved the Character meals too. She got to see her favorite, Pooh and give him a hug.

We didn't go on Soarin. She slept through the safari.

My baby loved Small World at that age. She didn't mind Pirates or Haunted House...tho if yours is at all tentative, I wouldn't risk those. Other than the height restricted rides, I think you can do most anything with a baby. Mine was breast feeding the first time we took her, and I found that Hall of Presidents and and Pirates were great places to feed her! She napped twice a day at age 1, so we tried to plan some of the longer sit down rides for naptimes.
I thought it was a PERFECT age at 1...she loved the characters and the photos we have are great memories.

Have fun!

I haven't been there yet with my kids - taking them this January and can't wait. I think my almost 2 year old will love the safari and seeing the animals. You have to be 40" to ride Soarin.

Just don't think you'll get on the Safari and sit back and relax and give the baby a bottle. Made that mistake once... there's no relaxing on that trip!

I've taken 11 month olds twice. We did Pirates, HM, all the Fantasyland stuff, Buzz, the movie ride at Studios, most of Future World, El Rio del Tiempo and Maelstrom, plus the Safaris and more. On Pirates and Maelstrom, I did turn the baby so that he/she was facing me on my lap, with their legs around my hips. I know the drops aren't big, but I felt I had a better hold. Would also work on Safaris.

I can't comment on any of the rides but just wanted to say, what a beautiful picture of your baby. Have a blast on his 1st birthday!

EVERTHING that did not have a height restriction.

No height requirement--our babies went with us. Youngest was 4 months on her first trip to disney world and our oldest was 11 months.

No problems...they loved it!

DS18 months has been at 7 months and 15 months. We always took him on anything that didn't restrict him from going on (height).

The attractions (shows & rides) he particularly enjoyed were Buzz Lightyear, Kilamajaro Safari, Playhouse Disney, Pooh, the Carasoul (threw a fit when his 90 seconds were up), Festival of the Lion King, Aladdin Magic Carpets, Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion.

There were things he could have cared less about, but nothing that frightened him or made him uncomfortable. He is a pretty high maintance baby, but he just kind of went with the flow. Wasn't too thrilled with the characters--liked them at a distance--until the last 3 days or so of our 9 day trip. And even then still didn't like the face characters.

Soarin' is height restricted, so that one is probably just a baby swap for you at one year old.

We took our DD when she was 3months then again when she was 6months we took her on every ride that did not have a height restriction. She was fine on everything. She was in love with all of the charactors on our last trip she was hugging everyone at crystal palace. We are going in September I hope she still loves everything now that she is one!
