My DW and I are taking our DS to WDW for his first trip in Dec. He will be 12months old. What rides will he be able to go on? I know he will not remember anything, but we want him to experiance as much as Disney has to offer. Has anyone out there traveled with a 12 month old? All advice is appreciated.

Thanks

We went to WDW when our ds was 13mos/10 adjusted (he was a preemie). He was able to go on anything w/out a height restriction (see link here).

One other thing he did not like at that age was the 4-D movie attractions ala "Mickey's Philharmagic". All kids are different though. If you decide to try it out my advice is when you enter the theater try to be in the first group going (if it's fairly crowded that day) so you can get a seat on the other side of the theater near the exit doors. This way if you decide you need to exit mid-show you won't have to climb over 40 people to get out. There are CM's w/flashlights too so if you do need to leave, they will assist you.

hth and have a great time!

Thanks for the advice. That's exactly what I needed to know. Did you find that he enjoyed a lot of the rides at that age?

Well, some of the rides just put him to sleep. :) Haunted Mansion was one. Those Doom Buggies sort of rocked him until he would nod off. We went to WDW 4x between 13mos and 24mos and so we started calling HM "the nap ride" lol. I remember he even fell asleep on the Safari Ride at AK on that first trip! But I would say for the most part he did enjoy most of the rides, especially the ones in Fantasyland.

Rides he might like could possibly be the Jungle Cruise if he likes animals, and anything in Fantasyland is always a good bet (except maybe Snow White, that one did scare me to tears when I was a little thing).

We went last year when our DS was 10 months old. I was supprised on how much he took in. He had a blast. Good luck:goodvibes

If you get the little one on Space Mountain be sure to video tape it! You'll prolly need a child seat though.
