What rides/attractions is it probably better to use your DAS than a fast pass? (also tier question)

In order to minimize my pain, I want to maximize the use of my fast passes along with the DAS. Are there any rides or attractions you feel are best used with the DAS, and which are best used with the fast pass? Hope I am being clear! My date is coming up soon and I am anxious I need to figure this out to make the best use of my time and energy. I will also have 2 small children with me, so any ride pertains to my wait time. Also how do tiers play into this and best way to use the fast pass along with the DAS.

I would simply track usual/average wait times for the attractions you are interested in. I would aim for getting FP for the longest waits. For the major attractions you don’t end up getting FP for I would try rope drop standby.

Tiers don't play into it at all, except that you can get a return time for a Tier 1 and also hold FP for Tier 1 at the same time.

What we always do is, get the FP for the "must do" rides, and then use DAS as needed once we get there. DAS helps a lot because we often can't stick to the plan we made 60 days ago once we get there and it is like insurance that we will get to ride our favorites no matter what.

I get FP for any ride I really like that have long waits ( FOP 7DMT TT just to name a few) and use my DAS for anything else. I have had a. FP AND DAS for the same ride ( 7DMT FOP comes to mind )

It is what every works for you

Red the post wrong and do not want to confuse anyone.

I try to take location into account when I plan. For example I will get a a Splash Mountain FP and then before we ride it we get a return time for Big Thunder Mountain. By the time we finish riding it is usual time to use our return time.

You can look at the wait times for attractions over a time period to see which ones have the longest waits. For many people, those are the ones they would choose to use Fastpasses for.
At MK, attractions that generally have long waits:
- 7 Dwarfs Mine Train, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion.
If you use a mobility device, there are some attractions at MK that give wheelchair return times because their line is not accessible. WITHOUT Fastpass, the return time would be appropriately the amount of time you would have waited in the Standby (regular) line. For those attractions, if you have Fastpass, your Return Time will be right away.
Attractions giving wheelchair return times include Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain and Jungle Cruise. (Sometimes Small World).

At Epcot:
Frozen, Soarin’ and Test Track. Even though Mission Space is one of the big rides there, the wait is usually short. We don’t normally wait more than 10 minutes there. Spaceship Earth is busy first thing in the morning, but there are times during the day when it is walk on. If you are using a mobility device, Spaceship Earth is one of the very few attractions left with a non-accessible line, so you will go to the exit to wait anyway.

At Hollywood Studio:
All of the Toy Story rides, Tower of Terror and Rock N Roller Coaster.
Once Star Wars area opens, expect long waits there (they will not be doing Fastpass right away there from what I have read).

At AK:
The Pandora rides (Flight of Passage & Navi River Ride) and the Safari. Kali River Rapids, Expedition Everest and Dinosaur have long lines at certain times, but are walk on at others (mostly end of day).
Festival of the Lion King may be a long wait in the Standby line. If using DAS, they will usually give a time for the next scheduled show.

Also, DAS can only be used for attractions the person DAS was issued to will be going on. If there are attractions only other members of your group will be going on, those would be good to get Fastpasses for.

Some people also choose to use their Fastpasses for their ‘can’t miss’ attractions, so they know when they will go on them.

They don't pull mobility device users out of the queue before the stairs at Splash anymore? Last time we were there, they had a CM stationed there and he directed guests through the HC gate.

As far as I know, they don’t give a wheelchair return time there - the line is accessible until that point, so guests using mobility devices wait in line until the stairs. At that point, they use a bypass to go to a waiting area near the exit for boarding (which doesn’t mean boarding right away).

Because of the stairs, there is no way for guests with ‘wheels’ to continue in the regular or Fastpass line.

Oh, okay, you just had listed it in the section that stated giving wheelchair return times - do they do that on top of having guests use the queue?

I am pretty sure 7DMT is accessible in both the standby and FP line so no return times are given here for mobility problems
Also, splash is up to the stairs and then you go another way so no return time is given here either

We do this for Space Mountain. I am the one with DAS, but I can't ride Space because it triggers a migraine. So we each [there are 2 in my party] get a FP for space. While I wait, my sister uses her FP to ride it at the start of the FP window, then comes out and swaps magic bands with me and then uses my FP to ride it a second time. I get some down time, she gets one of her must do rides twice, and we're both happy.

Typing at 5 in the morning is not a good idea. To save typing, I copied and meant to delete the couple that were not giving wheelchair return times.
I fixed the mistakes.

I am trying to figure this out to keep walking to a minimum. Thanks for the tip.

First, decide what attractions are a must for everyone, and get your 3 FP+ for those. Use DAS for the attraction that the DAS holder is definitely okay going on - as the DAS holder must ride in order for the other guests to be in the queue on the DAS pass.

It's hard to say what you should get - it depends on everyone's interests, etc.
